If something cool happens in the sky I'll just watch it on my 4k tv.

my dad went there back in 2021, i think it was the first country that started allowing tourists during the pandemic.

he said it was amazing, and the pictures he showed me were pretty great. i asked him if he had any hakarl but sadly he did not.

High latitude folks, eyes to the skies... (denis)
There's a CME incoming that can cause G2 or G3 EM storms (northern lights) tomorrow night or Thursday night. There could be aurora as far south as southern Wisconsin, perhaps the Virginias.

Not sure if anyone saw the aurora borealis a few weeks ago, but it was here. Stupidly, I didn't go out to see it.

I was up in Marquette Michigan back in late March/early April on a night where the lights were booming. Got a great view of them over Lake Superior, it was pretty cool. Interestingly, the lights look a LOT more dynamic through a camera than they do with the naked eye, but all i had was my iPhone and the photos looked like shit even though some locals tried to help me change my exposure settings. Eventually I gave up and just enjoyed the moment with my naked eyes instead.

Marquette is such an amazing place. I love it there, though I've never visited outside of July or August. The shots of the Northern Lights taken in the UP this spring have been quite spectacular. Residents of Maine have also apparently had some great views of the Lights over the last few months.

I am a bit too lazy to upload the pics, but I have some pretty cool shots of Marquette from a UP snowmobile trip. Basically we were up on a hill over looking the city and lake with ice and snow everywhere. It is a cool place.

Two maybe tree.

For all my not caring about space, I did look up tonight, and saw a really bright thing to the left of the moon. For a brief second I thought this is essentially what all people have seen for thousands of years, it's implications and guidance, and how I don't matter on a mass scale. Then I started thinking about the gods and goddesses Greek and Roman and how things developed thru history. The different periods of history, what worked, what didn't, it's all pretty crazy.

Remember when Betelgeuse was getting strangely dimmer? Something might be happening to the core of the dear now according to newly released research. It appears that the supergiant is in its final phases of carbon fusion, which means that we are likely to see it go supernova in the next tens of years! Very exciting stuff.
