I guess I just don't understand the question then cause it sounds to me like people are saying that they only see 2 colors (white/gold, blue/black) when it seems to me like its undeniable that there are 4 colors in the dress. I can understand someone saying they see those colors differently, but I don't see how anyone can say there aren't 4 distinct colors in total??

I see two colors. White and Gold.

Actually looking at it closer I only see 2 colors, not 4. The extra colors appear to just be folds or creases in the dress creating a shadow.

But the 2 colors I see are Violet and Gold. And that's not even an option.

I saw the photo yesterday...thought the dress was white and gold and didn't see how anyone could possibly think it was blue and black.

Fast forward to this morning, and I looked at the same picture, groggy eyed...it transformed from white and gold to blue and black right before my eyes.

Did it again just now...once I squinted (pretty much blocking out everything else except the dress) it became blue and black.

SCIENCE!

I can do that if I move the monitor angle.
