He just finished up, and I listened to the whole thing. It was non-confrontational towards Obama and the U.S. Overall, a decent speech. However, Iran will never agree to his proposed restrictions, and then we would be forced to attack Iran to achieve his goal.

He did sound like a strong leader. It'll play well at home, especially with such a resounding applause throughout his speech. I suspect this will help his party's election prospects this month, which is probably a big reason for the timing of the speech.

100% accurate. That is exactly how I heard the speech. As a non-interventionist myself, I prefer the path we have chosen in trying to find an accommodation with Iran. I don't see war as a viable alternative.

I'm a big Netanyahu fan and think he's a better orator than Obama. He can sound charismatic and authoritative without sounding affected, and he can sound cerebral and academic without stuttering and stammering like a kid who didn't do the reading the night before. There are hardliners and modernizers inside Iran. We have to reach out to those inside the country who would open up to the West. The more we ratchet up the rhetoric and sanctions, the more we empower the hardliners. I mean sanctions worked so well on Cuba.

Well, this speech was nothing more than grandstanding by the Republicans and politics by Netanyahu. It's a breach of protocol and somewhat inappropriate. On the other hand Obama has thumbed his nose at longstanding protocols throughout his terms. What does he expect? But I can understand him being pissed.

What I don't understand is how he can bow to tyrants and dance around Putin like a frightened child while reserving his outrage for the leader of our best and closest ally.
