This is justified, right? C'mon, the dude has a fucking rifle. He robbed a church and home, and stole a car.

Thank you for your service, Officer Rapiejko. You're one of the good ones.

The other officer was on the radio telling officers to stay back since he was armed and dangerous.

Officer Rapiejko made sure he was no longer armed and dangerous.

Unless the officer on the radio is a captain or chief or something, why does it matter? I prefer that my cops handle situations like rifle bearing criminals quickly and efficiently, which was done. Stay back for too long and this fuck could have started popping off at passerbys.

I expect them to keep the peace. That was done successfully here. Good job, police.

I think you do everything you can to not kill people. If it comes to that, then do it.

I mean the guy is obviously mentally ill, right?

I dont think you can blame the cop who rammed him. It was going on so long and the guy is walking with a rifle in a residential area. He could start shooting at any moment.

This is a good example of how cops are put in tough situations

At least this guy was armed.

"Someone" = A piece of shit armed with a rifle that had already robbed folks and stole a car.

Again, the cop successfully kept the peace.

so running him over is proper protocol ? just wondering. because it didn't seem like the other squad cars involved in the pursuit had that in mind, seemed like this guy came out of nowhere like a bat out of hell

To be honest, I don't care what they had to do to make sure that he didn't hurt anybody.

i read the story and i think the cop was completely justified to do what he did.

however it did go down on a sidewalk with a couple blind spots around the corner ahead of him... if someone walked out at the moment he rammed the guy they also would have been killed

that said, there was enough sirens and commotion im sure the chance of that happening was very low.

watch the full video. the cop was behind the first cop. he decided "i dont want a standoff with this thug, i need to disarm him" and thats exactly what he did. i think it might have been the best option

Yeah, I dont think protocol was followed there. But hard to say what the right thing to do is.

I wouldnt call the guy a piece of shit. Bernie Madoff and OJ Simpson (of sound mind and purposely fucking people over/killing them) are pieces of shit.

This guy seems like he was mentally unstable.

But Hawg, to say Just shoot him and move on is kind of devaluing life, isnt it?

Should we just shoot that cop who gunned down the unarmed fleeing suspect last week?

I was not totally being serious, my apologies. I do think they needed to do whatever they thought was necessary to get this guy unarmed.

Everyone who breaks the law should be run over or shot.

Period.

that's kind of the point. I'm sure this isn't the only instance in recent memory that a cop(s) had to deal with a gun wielding suspect. i would go as far as to say i bet it happens every day somewhere in this great land of ours. and it doesn't appear that "run suspect over with your squad car" is the standard method of handling that situation.
