If you use your laptop as a desktop replacement and don't care that much about portability, then it's fine to want a bigger screen. This one is about 17" and while maybe it's not a breeze and a half to schlep it around the airport and stuff, I'm happy with it. Also, it was only like $400, and I burn through laptops almost as fast as I do gym shoes, so I'm happy.

Agree really. If you want the bigger screen at home it is easy to make yourself a cool docking set up.

About two years ago, I shorted out my laptop screen by spraying glass cleaner directly on the screen and letting it drip down into the cracks rather than spraying it on a rag. I HDMIed the laptop to a 32" LCD TV and typed with my hands in a one-quarter-open laptop. That was a weird six weeks.

To each their own, but I have a new surface pro 3 from work with a great docking station at home and in my office and if I need something bigger there I go. Plus traveling is now very easy.
