People who like sports, like comedy. Why doesn't the Score or 1000 have on comedians that are in town for the weekend? Is it because most now have podcasts and don't want to steer listeners away?

Caliendo was on espn last week. It was okay. I feel like comedians aren't funny anymore or I'm just old.

Carlin was funny. Pryor was funny and profane. I like some of the new stand up but most rework old material.

You want comedians on the radio? Listen to the Bob and Tom laughfest.

I only wish I laughed as much as they do.

Does anybody watch Marc Maron on IFC? I don't know if he's funny at "Stand-Up",but his show is funnier than "Louie".

I like both shows. They are funny in their own ways.

You wouldn't like Maron's standup. He gets very political, and he bashes your team over the head.

yes and yes....

Its because most have the same act of talking about things that arent funny, but they try to make them funny, because they thought something funny happened to them...I blame it all on Dane Cook!

Kyle Kinane, good Chicagoan in LA trying to make it, but funny an real

Pablo Francisco would work on sports radio with all the impressions. Funny guy.

And Bob and Tom were a bad Steve and Garry rip off 30 years ago. I shudder to think what they sound like now!

I absolutely hate when comedians are interviewed in non-comic formats - whether it be on talk radio or when they pop by WGN Mornings News et. al. They invariably try too hard to be funny and the hosts are forced into non-stop laughter. They are fine in a more conventional format (such as Late Night TV) or unedited such as on Sirius (they seem to work well on Howard for instance).

Caliendo is the only one who frequents sports radio stations, I guess because of his Barkley and Madden impressions. He's always on KTAR. All comedians I follow are always plugging their shows on FM music stations when they're in town. I feel the reason sports talk radio on the AM dial don't have comedians on is because they don't want their podcasts being plugged as well, because most have podcasts that people can play on their way to work or way home.
