Liked it alot, the ending was pretty cool i thought, one of those action movies you need to suspend belief to really enjoy though

You mean it wasn't a documentary? Huh.

I also enjoyed the movie. The books and films are very clever in the way they make Bourne the embodiment of CIA "blowback". Bourne is the action movie equivalent of the social upheaval the CIA has caused across the globe, the embodiment of the unintended consequences of covert action.

Haven't seen it yet, but I'm intrigued. I REALLY liked the first one and was entertained at the second. This one seems like it might be a bit of a plot stretch:

"Now I suddenly need to find and torture the people who trained me."

I hope there's a little more to it than that...

There's a lot more to it than that. Ultimatum is better than Supremacy and arguably as good as Idenity (though I still think the first one was the best in the trilogy).

Loved the first one. The fight scene in the apartment in Paris is one of the best fight scenes I have ever seen. Looking fwd to seeing the new one. Hoping Julia Stiles is still looking hot.

And is it just me? Is the scene in the preview where he calls Pamela Landy and says "I hear you're still looking for me," from Supremecy?

only saw Supremecy once but it is definitely in the Ultimatum. I like Identity the most, but I like Bourne's character in Ultimatum the most, if that makes any sense

It turns out that the end of Supremacy was actually a flash forward to the middle of Ultimatum.

Indeed she is. Looks like she added some meat to her frame too, in a healthy, non-supermodel twig kind of way. She is also a much bigger part of this movie than the first 2. Not like she was a big part in the first 2, and not like she's a huge part of this one, but still nice to see her more.

You read the books and enjoyed the movies? Really?? Very rarely have I ever enjoyed a movie after reading the book but the butcher job done by Hollywood on the Bourne series was especially maddening.

I loved the first two movies but, when we left the theater my comment was "There's no way they can make another one". I said that because although I thought the movie was cool and had some cool scenes, I generally didn't think it was very good.

I felt the plot was empty, it seemed like an excuse to make a 3rd movie. Julie Styles character was very covert and black-market-like in the 2nd one, this time her character didn't really seem to have a purpose to me, besides of course the obvious way she cut her hair and dyed it black like the first love interest, no doubt will be Bourne's new girl in the 4th installment.

The movie was shaky, which does seem to me like a way to force excitement as opposed to adding true meaning to a scene. Did you notice how many times he was on roofs? These are all things that bothered me. Why always on a roof? How can you possibly be caught in the same situation over and over again where you have to climb up on a roof?

The fight scene with the "asset" was great, exchanging martial arts moves until a simple choke hold put the guy down. The car scene when he was driving backward and flipped the rear-view mirror to see and somehow steer was awesome. But the crashes he survived without any injury was just unrealistic, he's not the liquid terminator, he should have had some serious bleeding, a limp and minimal use of one arm to seem more realistic.

Also, I know it helps those who haven't seen the first two movies but it seemed so repetitive to me to have to be reminded of the situation. I like to piece things together and this movie laid it out way to easily. I guess I could be in the minority here but I give the movie 2 1/2 stars out of 4. The extra 1/2 is the legacy of Bourne that carried it in the first two movies, plus Matt Damon is great.

That being said I'll prolly see the 4th hoping for a better plot now that everything has been revealed.

It was meant to be a trilogy.

I thought the action was beautifully integrated with the main revelation of the film--that Bourne himself bears some responsibility in the creation of the killing machine that he became. The fights and chases took place under increasingly claustrophobic constraints (tight quarters, rooftops, etc) because Bourne's quest ultimately lead back towards himself. Yet only when he possessed this information could he finally kill Bourne and become "reborn" as his original self. Thus the film ends with a headlong dive into the water, the same place the trilogy began. This time, though, the water is a baptism of sorts rather than a funeral. Bourne has freed himself of his killer identity and thus has prepared himself to make the physical and thematic leap into a new life.

Just saw it yesterday.

I agree with Midge in that it was maybe a bit better than Supremacy, but not Identity.

Potential spoilers below!!!

At first, I was completely distracted by the whole "shaky" camera style. It almost made me throw up when I first encountered it on NYPD Blue, and when enlarged to the movie screen, it was almost unwatchable. Fortunately, they toned it down.

I agree with BD that the plot was paper thin. The plot seemed to be only "filler" to get to the next chase scene.

Points:
-Disappointed that Julia Stiles' character reduced to gawky love interest. But glad they only inferred a relationship.

-Intriguing that Bourne didn't easily dispatch Assets from Treadstone 2.0 (as in Identity) - That said, Desh should have his own movie. That guy was bad-ass.

- The train station sequence with the reporter was very well done.

-While I liked the fight sequences, as in Supremacy, the camera-work made it extremely difficult to follow exactly what was happening. Maybe that's the point, but I didn't appreciate the moves as much as I could have because I really couldn't tell who was doing what a lot of the time.

-This movie had the most "willfull suspension of disbelief" moments in the trilogy.

Overall, I was entertained, and that was my only expectation. I think I would rank the movies in order of the trilogy...

If the Julia Styles character is that much more simplified for this and future scripts, the least they can do is at least have more 007 style softcore ( hardcore even?) porn scenes.

Wonder if anyone else noticed every time Damon speaks in a foreign language (Spanish/Russian etc) his voice drops a couple octaves? Guess Ill have to get the DVD to substantiate cheap kungfu dubbing.

The fax machine is supposedly a lifesaver, but would that evil and very thorough CIA bad guy really overlook securing the fax linesfor the whole building as well? Thanks for the fax , Joan Allen. Didnt get to where you wanted it to go, but we got it. We sure did. BLAM BLAM.

Im told the books are way different, so whether theres a 4th or 5th is totally up to the $$$ and script committees.
