Yeah I think it was about 5 years or just over that.

Some of the actors aging is more convincing than others.

The way some of the characters live in the show with the smoking and drinking they should just be shrunken heads.

This season has just been ok, not a whole lot going on yet. Hope it starts picking up, which it appears it will with the mob guys starting to
try to flex their muscle on NYC turf. Interested to see what happens with this Laundromat that was won in the card game.

Anybody still hanging in there on this show? It is starting to remind me a bit of Treme, which is a show that I enjoyed quite a bit, but a
show that kind of stalled out and went nowhere. Some excitement at the end of the last episode after the guys pulled off in the Caddy.
Can someone confirm or deny that the reason the detective took the watch was solely to protect the guys name? Why did he tell his partner
that he handed in the watch? Because he thought he was actually going to turn himself in or because he expected him to do what he did?
I was just a little confused on that part. Trying to be vague to avoid spoilers for the 2 other people actually watching this....

I'm 2-3 episodes behind right now. Still watching and plan on finishing it, but I also was hoping it was going to be a more ambitious show than it's been.

It is good and I like it, just isn't great. Did you watch Treme at all?

Never saw Treme. Have considered diving in at various points but never have.

They do a good job fleshing out characters and get you interested about what is happening with them but unfortunately the characters
don't really do a whole lot which feels like is happening in The Deuce. Looks like only 2 episodes left this season. I'm sticking with it.

The kid playing Bobby's son working in the parlor is played by Michael Gandolfini... James Gandolfini's son.

Is that right? He doesn't play a real attractive human in the show. Can't find a shot of him in character. Looks a lot better cleaned up.

Pretty good season finale and it appears it will be back again for a 3rd and final season. They do a great job with character development, just wish there
was a bit more going on in the series. Kind of a slow mover, although they did kill off two pimps and two other characters the last few episodes.

Agreed on all counts. I do wish there was more plot-driven action, and I'm not crazy about the time jumps between seasons, but it's a really interesting show to watch still. So many good characters throughout too. Really liked the scene were Darlene finally leaves Larry and he lets her go because he could tell she was speaking the truth.

As always, David Simon does season ending montages better than pretty much any person on Earth does anything else.

Treme started going south as soon as John Goodman's character got killed off.

I agree that they killed him off too quickly. I still really liked the characters in that show, it just was slow and never really went anywhere. I thought the
Indians were fascinating.

Beni recommends waiting until next week and watch two episodes. Lots of season building in ep1 as is the David Simon way.
