Fishished last 4 episodes of Jack Ryan season 2. What a disappointment. I thought it was going the direction of Cuban Missle Crisis part 2..but over a fucking mineral? Seriously?

It wasn't all about a mineral. The main threat was Valenzuela becoming a failed state like Iran, Syria and Pakistan.

They went off the rails and started focusing on the mineral and Valenzuela electing a woman as president to save the state.

Fun fact is that "Blue Gold" is a real mineral only found in China. China accounts for 80% of U.S. imports of the group of 17 minerals used in military equipment and high-tech consumer electronics.

The United States has excluded Chinese rare earth imports from recent tariff hikes, along with some other critical Chinese minerals.

China, however, has raised tariffs on imports of U.S. rare earth metal ores from 10% to 25%, making it less economical to process the material in China.

Trump has zero leverage in the trade wars.

"U.S. manufacturers' best hope for securing rare earths will be the redevelopment of a domestic rare earths industry."

Trump is trying to develop our own rare earths industry and using the China tariffs to justify the need for mines in the US.

I wonder how many Trump investors have connections to this industry?

I watched the first 3 episodes last night and was entertained. You must have high expectations.

yep, best half hour type comedy show on TV these days.

Mrs Maisel is the best hour long comedy type show in TV.

Amazon Prime may not have much in terms of volume, but they've got a couple of the best shows out there with these two.

Just started Poldark. Like the way it was shot to give it that gritty look. Always a fan of Revolution War-era shows.

Season 1 is great but I'd suggest stopping there. Season 2 starts out pretty well but it really goes down hill badly after about the 4th episode.

Maybe try season 3. Made the stoner mistake of accidentally starting there and episode 1 was solid

Starting season 1 now.
