Dear Management:

While I do watch too much netflex like any good American, I was wondering if it is acceptable to discuss books on this message board. I do not see a place to discuss them. Under your ever watchful eye, you saw how the love of literature turned my near violent encounter with denisdman into a friendship. Of course, this oversite may be a vestige of the mentality of the previous ownership. Rumors has it he grappled with the English language like it was a 2 ton Kodiak bear.

Faithfully,
Charles "Chuck" the Magnificent

There are many threads regarding books. Not sure where they are in the board index.

A good books section would be useful, though, so I can actually find the threads. I had a bunch of reviews on a thread that was deleted on the old board.

 burning books looks fun kinda.

Yeah, I'm probably in the wrong place. Maybe I'll start a website where just me and denis talk to each other...

I like manly books too. My dad was a cop and has a ridiculous library of true crime and mob books.

That's all I read anymore. I was a book hoarder and it saved me from ending up on one of those shows.

Back in the old days of the board, I used to refer to Nostradamus as "The many names" guy.

I would very much enjoy that. I have a range of great suggestions for you. Most revolve around European history, historical fictions, and modern financial non fiction. I actually just finished my latest European history book on the Byzantine Empire. I am on the look out for something new and haven't decided which way to go. One book from the way back machine that gets CH all excited is the Two Income Trap. At the time, the author- Professor Warren, was not as well known. That a Libertarian would enjoy that book has always been a source of laughter for our hockey loving friend.

In any case, for younger couples trying to decide if living the two income lifestyle is worth it, this is your book. There are no serious politics in the book. It is a very practical read. Much easier than War & Peace, which I finished last year.

I was vetted and cleared by Management. I'm going to write a book on message board abuse and bullying. I will name names.

Historical fictions are great. I learned a ton about Russian and the Napoleonic wars from that book. I never realized the affinity for France within the Russian Elite. Also, the details on the war are fascinating.

The Three Musketeers (five books in total) and the Count of Monte Cristo are even better, by a mile. I still contend there are four musketeers, but that's just me.

Yeah, books needs its own section. I just searched for some stuff, and it's useless. This is like the one place on this board where I'd actually have something useful to contribute.
