I am watching the entire run of Enterprise. Good show ,one problem. They keep fucking with canon.
This show might have potential, once you get past the gimmick casting. They need to remember they need to actually cast people who can act and hold peoples' interest. That was why TOS,TNG and DS9 worked, Enterprize would have if it would have gotten a chance.
Voyager did not work because the cast sucked, stories where too chaotic and the characters where generally unlike-able except for the fracking hologram.

The last season of Enterprise, after it got cancelled and they didn't give a fuck, got very good.

They figured out how they screwed up depicting Vulcans and did a retcon explanation that actually worked.

Were there Ferengi in Enterprise? I don't even remember.

Season 4 of Enterprise worked as they started doing mini-story arcs through the season in a manner that reminded me of DS9.

I'm in the middle of a DS9 watch.

I originally watched the first season and never stuck it out. Aborted a few previous rewatch attempts. I'm trying to make it to Season 4 when Worf joins up, I believe. It has gotten much better at the end of S2 and starting S3.

DS9 had a rough first season. It got better, got weird, got better and I think I made it through all of it. Enterprise was one I never got on board with, can't say why. Maybe kids happened. I do know its syndication time out here was late at night and might of been competing with something else.

"Enterprise" just seemed like over-saturation. DS9 and "Next Generation" seemed to compliment each other. I liked that they were on concurrently for a little while.

I actually liked "Voyager" but I didn't follow it religiously. I thought Janeway was awesome. And the theme is almost too good to be for a somewhat campy sci-fi show.

I like Voyager a lot eventually. It took a while to get its footing with me just like DS9. I think the concept of early starfleet is an interesting one for Enterprise but I just didn't get hooked the few times I managed to see it. Maybe it was the writing, maybe it was the actors, maybe it was something else entirely but I just didn't get hooked.

I am not going to say DS9 is the best ST, but it is my favorite. They should of done more with Quark's bar.

I had a drink at Quark's bar.

In Vegas. I'm a nerd.

1) Next Generation,
2) Original,
3) Voyager

I've been catching a lot of these lately on 264. None of the other series grabbed my interest.

When I see TOS, all I see is Nostalgia.

I would go:

TNG
DS9
Voyager

I only sampled DS9, and it didn't grab me at all. My brother recently gave it a second look, and he really enjoyed it. Maybe I just need to commit to it. Normally Star Trek gets you right at the outset with its various characters and quality story lines.

I will say a few things:

Kinda slow at the beginning
The Religion thing gets old
Picks up with the Klingons/Worf (season 3 or 4)
Worf gets annoying
Quark is great
Bashir/O'Brein is great

I would disagree with that. TNG was a shitshow for about 2 1/2 seasons.

Shut your slut mouth. The best episode ever was in the second season.
Measure of a Man, any one who says something else is full of shit.

I am not a person that watches that type programming on its first airing. I never saw Seinfeld, South Park, Family Guy, Archer, Star Trek or other series in "real" time. As such, I am unable to separate the series into distinct seasons. All I know is that on balance is was a solid show. It was cheesy but that is Star Trek in a nutshell.

I agree. Or possibly Inner Light.

But that was a port in a storm.

Doc I mostly agree with you. TNG took a while to drag me in. My wife's family was a big time so when I was dating I would watch a bit of it over there. I'm not sure I would call it a shit show but if I see a non bearded Riker, chances are the show is not a good one.

How do you guys remember the names of individual episodes from a show that had seven seasons? I am going to be overloading Wikipedia today just to keep up with you two.

Well, you're just wrong about The Inner Light.

Code of Honor might be the most racist hour of television in the past 30 years and Justice is just roll your eyes cringeworthy.

I've already been watching too much Star Trek lately (partly because the Hawks were off for so many days). And you guys are just encouraging more of this unnecessary behavior. That being said, keep up the fine discussion.

You think knowing episodes of Trek is bad, turn the talk to Dr Who. I am even worse on the guys I have watched. I think I am the knly person I know who thinks Eccelson should be knighted for his work. I rank him right after Tom Baker as how important he is to the show.
