I'm living in the past w/r/t HBO shows. I never had the channel before the last few years so I'm catching up on old series. Finished The Wire and it was fantastic. Jumped over to Deadwood and I'm enjoying the hell out of this as well. I'm about halfway thru season 3.

Did the show get bad ratings, did Ian McShane hold out for more money.... I don't see why it stopped after 3 seasons... unless its a red wedding ending and all the main characters die.

HBO is notoriously cheap, when mcshane and Olyphant were getting big offers HBO refused to buck up..great show though, how the fuck did Molly Parkers ugly ass land that lead role of Mrs. Garrett.

You're wrong.

He's just angry in every scene, often without reason. His default facial expression is 'holding in a painful shit'. Bad.

And thus, the perfection known as Hank Scorpio has just come crashing down

Now, of point: Olyphant's brilliance was that he had that character doing such a continuous slow burn w/r/t all that was going on around him and involving him that you were guessing during nearly every new scene with him if Bullock was finally going to lose his shit. On the rare occasion that did happen, it was a mark-out-moment.

the show was expensive as hell too - nodding to the previous mention of HBO being cheap. I've actually learned to appreciate the final scene with Al cleaning up a blood stain. Sure, there are loose ends, but it seems fitting in a "yep, this is my life'' way

I think I need to put this in queue for dvr. Added first episode to check it out. I remember seeing a few but felt lost as I think it was second season and probably was preoccupied.

Terrible ending. Even if the show was continuing, that was a horrendous season finale. They bring in all the Chinese guys and the guys Hawkeye brought and everyone is armed to the teeth and Hearst rides out of town and Al scrubs his floor. Total shit.

This is why it is only Top 5 shows all time and not easily #1.

I'm going to have to go back and start over on this. Only finished season 1 and then stopped because of people saying that the ending
sucked.

I can tell you how the movie ends if you want to save some time.

A sunset landscape fades to the ending credits.

i think i'd rather see them do this with "rome", or "carnivale". "deadwood" really went downhill in the 3rd season.

I thought Deadwood was still very strong, besides Skylar.

i waited for a 4th season for a little while, but then gave up and found up it had been canceled. but it was pretty evident that the 3rd season was trying hard to stay interesting and also faithful to the actual history and the two didn't mix.

The Hurst stuff sucked but everything besides that was good.

I gave up midway through Season 2. But I already knew it got cancelled prematurely and figured there was no good ending to it.

It was also before I watched Justified. That Timothy Olyphant....

Just hooked up my HBO GO and am going to rewatch. It's been a long time so I really don't remember too much about the one season I caught. I'll try to get through the first season the next week or so.

Spoiler Alert...

The street fight between Swearengen's guy, Dan and Hearst's guy, The Captain, is one of the best battles on television.

Making good progress on this one, almost done with season two and the young boy just passed away. It has been good overall. There are
times where it goes a bit slower than I care for but I really enjoy the whole western motif. Other than the gratuitous swearing I have really
liked the interactions with Swearingen and just about everyone, especially Wu.

I always wondered who Once Upon a Deadpool was targeted to.

Once Upon a Deadpool was a theatrical re-release of Deadpool 2, but rated PG-13 with way less swearing.
