Wow. Really impressed. As far as superhero introductions, this may be right near the top of the list. The story was solid. The action scenes were very impressive, and not too choppy. Gal Gadot nailed the role of wide eyed woman (goddess) in a new world. Supporting cast was very good, but underdeveloped outside of Chris Pine. The movie only dragged a little in the first act, but Jenkins' pacing throughout the film was great.

I liked this movie far more than I thought I would.

Btw, the trailer for JL actually was more impressive on the big screen. This gives me hope.

No after credits scene btw.

we learned that the hard way by staying through the credits, which i hate doing. i want to be ghost as soon as possible when the movie's over.

i've always personally loathed the post credits bullshit. it's such a fanboy move. and i'm sure theater workers hate having to wait until the very very end before they have to go in and clean all the shit out from the lazy audience that left all their trash behind.

the movie was a real hoot. i thoroughly enjoyed it. chris pine had great chemistry with gadot and i liked that she had some vulnerability at times too.

it's also very sweet at times. it should be a real blockbuster. but the villains are going to be her weakest link.

Agreed on all accounts. Yeah, my wife and I always ask google if there is an after credit scene. There are websites dedicated solely to answering that question.

I loved the movie. The pacing was excellent. The look at the plight of war through scenes was very well done for a comic book movie. The only thing I had issue with is the loud, special FX ending when she takes on another super being. I think the more grounded in reality these movies can be,the better the effect on the audience.
That's why I enjoyed the 2nd Cap movie and how the 3rd Cap movie ended. It doesn't always have to be about some giant monster that is all-powerful. DC seems to have issues with that.

fucking pirates of the caribbean has a stinger? it isn't torture enough to sit through the regular movie?

and that franchise is pretty much toast anyway. domestically it's only made $115 of a $230 million budget. and it's about to get bombarded with summer season.

I agree with most of what you said Jimmy, but idk how they can have WW fight a human opponent. Cap's power level is no where near WW. Any opponent that isn't overpowered would be crushed in physical combat against her. However, if they find a villain that can weaken her then maybe it could work. I don't know enough about her catalogue of villains in the comics to comment in depth.

The first trailer had me hyped honestly, but then the second trailer reminded me of why I gave up on the franchise halfway through the third movie. $230 million, and then you add all the marketing costs. I don't see how the foreign markets could produce enough of a profit to warrant another film.

my biggest problem is how bloated these films are.

1st - 143 min.
2nd - 151 min.
3rd - 169 min.
4th - 137 min. (someone got the memo)
5th - 153 min. (someone stopped listening)

the total run time of these films is over 12 hours long. for a series based on a roller coaster ride, i'd say you're squeezing water from a cactus with your bare hands.

the first film was fun; the second one started to get a little too much...like you said, by the third film, it all fell apart.

yet they persisted.

Yeah, I really enjoyed the first one. Mainly because Johnny Depp is so obviously wasted throughout the entire film.

Saw WW yesterday and agree that it was well done for the most part. I thought the sniper guy was going to be involved in the end but it didn't materialize. I haven't gone back to look at Batman v Superman again (hopefully never will), but did the black and white photo in that film match the one in WW? That would have required some careful planning.

I finally watched it last week. The best DC movie post Nolan. I felt like I was watching a combo of Thor and Captain America. GoTG 2 was better.

GotG and GotG2 are the best movies Marvel has put out.

Couldn't agree more! Best superhero movie outside TDK, of the modern era.

I really liked the first Captain America movie. I liked how they stayed true to the original time era of WW2. The second movie was very good as well.

I saw it yesterday afternoon.

I liked Wonder Woman, but didn't like the supporting characters or the story. Chris Pine's three sidekicks were uninteresting and not especially helpful, although the Indian did make some good smoke signals. The Moroccan guy (or whatever he was) had some personality when he was introduced but that soon fizzled out. None of the villains were charismatic or compelling and the final battle between WW and Ares didn't do much for me. I didn't know if I thought the movie was too long because I didn't really like it or because it was legitimately too long, but it seems to be a common complaint so I guess it was a tad long.

Hopefully the sequel will feature stronger supporting characters with more depth, a better story, and a more compelling villain. Everything I liked about the movie had to do with WW herself -- when she had ice cream for the first time and told the guy who made it "You should be very proud!", that killed me...that was a great line. Her excitement at seeing a baby and her momentary battle with the revolving door were cute, too. I liked how she didn't understand why she/they couldn't help everyone instead of just sticking to the mission as Steve wanted to do. Between the WWI setting, her strength and speed, her shield, her overwhelming desire to do good, and her integrity, honesty, and naivete she reminded me of a female Captain America.

I didn't realize she was a god. That obviously separates her from and puts her in a different league (The Justice League...tee-hee) than Cap.

Captain America: The First Avenger and Captain America: The Winter Soldier are my favorite of the spate of superhero movies.

I really liked this movie as well. I didn't really notice the lack of sidekick character development at the time though because I was so distracted by how incredibly attractive Gal Gadot is.

That is why the Dc heroes are hard to have interact with each other, all of them except for Batman have basically godlevel powers.

saw this over the weekend. Great movie, definitely the best out of DC since Heath Ledger Batman movie.

That said, I'm sure JL is going to suck.
