I agree. The guy seems like a pretty good actor, but yes, it took away the focus.

I thought it was pretty cool that the only one dressed in white at the final gathering/fundraiser was Ruth. Everyone else was in black. Sucks that Ruth got the boot. She was super chill.

Ruth did murder the head of a drug cartel and then go out of her way to antagonize the cartel. She might as well have worn a ‘kill me Navarro cartel’ sign the last couple episodes.

I never liked Ruth. Remember early on she tried to kill Marty by electroucing him on the boat. The only flaw was she should have gave up the Byrde's in the final scene.

I liked the ending. They really couldn’t kill off the Byrds and have Ruth survive. While that’s the more “moral” ending, it would have been identical to Walt dying and Jesse living in BB.

Jonah shooting Mel showed his reluctant transformation into Marty—like Michael Corleone.

The ending was good. The entire show made no fucking sense realistically. But that's OK. It's a fucking show. Suspend disbelief. They did a good job. Very entertaining.

The Byrdes tap dancing around getting killed or arrested just about every episode was part of the charm. Even Ruth joked about it.

Those were Ben’s ashes. You have to suspend your disbelief to think those could have actually convicted the Byrds of a crime of some sort.

No because Mel also said the crematorium was old and ,"I bet we could find all kinds of evidence there." If they shot the cookie jar they still would have Ben's bones and ash at the crematorium.

Good ending. Good show. Not in the top tier of Breaking Bad, The Wire, but I'd say 2nd tier...enjoyable.
