Finished up season 3 tonight. Loved season 1 and 3. Season 2 was alright. Def see why Omar is so loved. Great character. I really enjoyed Stringer Bells character too.

RPB and I once traded several thousand words via PM on whether season 3 or 4 is the best. I got season 4. You got the best season of TV ever put on screen coming up, IMO.

Looking forward to it. It will be pretty hard to top season 3. It is amazing to me how they utilize so many characters in the show and keep them all relevant. I feel like I need a notebook with me to keep up with names

Season 3 is best. I'd rank it 3,4,1,2,5. All are good though.

Devastatingly great.

Id say season 4 is when they really stopped fucking around and showed you how deep the problems run. Kids change everything.

I really like Season 2.
Chris Bauer's best role since his star turn as Ma-Cheene in 8mm.

Might be time for another rewatch.

I think I’ve done 3 so far.

Maybe I should make it a Christmas tradition.

I was thinking the same thing. I think my last rewatch was around this time last year.

I agree on Season 2...I liked that one way more than Season 1. I'm a few episodes into Season 3 and still think Season 2 is better, but we shall see.

It was a great season, no doubt, but in my book it's more like one of the Law and Order spinoffs.

Season 2 IMO was hard to follow and just not as interesting as the others. THe whole stuff with the Greek and the union mehhh . Just wasnt as interesting as the stuff with Avon, Omar, and Stringer

Season 2 was a kind of crime rarely shown for public consumption. I was most surprised by how much I hated virtually all of the Greek's team at first.

The genius of that show was well illustrated by that season, the characters all really were the same people. Flaws and talents alike.

Finished up season 4 and starting season 5. I really enjoyed season 4. It was definitely close to as good as season 3. But I think season 3 was a little better. Hating seeing Bodie die. I really liked him.

Agreed. At least bubbles made it out alive. Brodie is relatable to any job. Absolute professional at his craft.

Yup. Played some pool with Herc and Carver right after they beat the shit out of him. Forgiving guy.

I love the scene with Bodie and McNulty on the park bench.

One of the best scenes of the series to me.

everyone seemed to hate season 2 but i loved it.

I loved the fact the show did a 180 and you were like WTF is going on.

I also thought it was great they used the real time and waited for Avon to get out of the joint so season 2 fit right in.

SPOILERS -

I dont remember if it was season 4 or 5, but the one where it's all in the school/ classroom. I didnt like it at all but I had a good friend who was a teacher at the time and he absolutely loved it. He said it depicted the reality of inner city school to a tee.

SPOILERS

I dont remember which season, but the whole sequence where Stringer Bell goes to college and McNulty follows him and is like WTF is going on here, plus Stringer then uses that knowledge about revenue sharing with the drug lords was awesome. And the climax where the one drug lord is taking notes and Stringer yells at him 'YOU'RE TAKING NOTES ON A CRIMINAL CONSPIRACY!' . That was great.

found one scene at the xerox shop : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mDBq-OU1rHo Man that was a great show.

I dont think anyone has said they hate the season. I just did not like it as much as the others. Of the 4 seasons I have watched so far it is clearly the worst of the bunch, but even being the worst it is still really good.

No I'm talking about the guys here. I am talking about when it happened real time. There was a big backlash like why did you get rid of all the black characters and bring in all white cast. Even some of the actors like the guy who played Omar said he thought that. Also, non-racially, it made no sense at the time since we weren't use to such a large twist like that in a tv show.

Also reminds me how the show was able to bide it's time. Can't do that on network tv. Like Lester.

And when you say 'clearly the worst', just wait til it's over. You will reexamine it. Fuck I don't want to spoil it for you should have never started this thread.

Yep. One of the saddest scenes in the series, which is really saying something. You knew Bodie was a goner soon after that scene.

Season 5 gets too much hate.

SPOILERS, RFDC

Some outstanding moments in season 5. A guy walks up some stairs and it's one of the greatest scenes in tv history.
