If Oldman doesn't win the Academy Award then they should just do away with the award.

I really enjoyed the movie especially on the heels of Dunkirk this summer.

I think he won the Golden Globe tonight so odds are he'll win an Oscar.

Great movie.

Pretty decent movie, quite silly at times (Winston taking the subway! The hat doffer talking to the canon fodder).

His movie wife was hot.

I read that while the subway thing was made up for the movie, Churchill was known to disappear and pop up somewhere in London with ordinary people, to find out what they were thinking.

He spent much of the war literally hiding in a bunker. You can go tour it, it's actually kind of cool.

Not really. Most of it was basement that they fortified pretty heavily. I do not recall it being connected to the tube at all.

This seems like the kind of movie you can wait for in-home options.

Pretty sure my wife and I are going to check this out. After watching The Crown with her on Netflix I don't believe it will be difficult
to talk her into going to see this. I saw Dunkirk in the theater last summer so this should shoehorn around that nicely.

I liked the movie but it was a little dry for the character that was being featured. What it did show very well is that the Churchill that is remembered popularly in history is not the Churchill English politicians and bureaucrats remember him to be.

as an aside Lilly James has become the recent object of my movie affection. I've really loved her in Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, Baby Driver and now this. Even when she is not in a lead role, she jumps off the screen

Watched this one last night. The acting and makeup were outstanding. I enjoyed Lithgow's portrayal on The Crown as well and really
liked that we got to see much more of Churchill's story, but they had plenty of time to do it in a series.

I thought it was pretty good. Hey did you know Churchill hated Christianity? Almost converted to Mooslim.
