Both movies feature suicide. Think about it.

Ain't never seen The Big Chill, but The Ice Storm took left turns every chance it could.

Ice storm m was bizarre. Finally saw big chill a few years back. Not sure it was worth the wait.

Dude you gotta look at it like characters and not actors.

EXAMPLE = captain Kirk did his 4 year mission and then he became a cop named TJ Hooker who used to bang/pimp a young/prine Heather Locklear on the side. He eventually got old snd boring and bevame a lawyer in Boston legal.

Or even better, in Gremlins 2: The New Batch you've got Lex Luthor's dad from Smallville (John Glover) playing Donald Trump (they call him.clamp in the movie tho. Great logo) and then at the end of the movie you have The Doctor (Robert Picardo from ST Voyager) getting serenaded by the bride gremlin thingy (Snooki from Jersey Shore)

Btw, best part about the ending of gremlins 2 is when they finally release the electrogremlin from being on hold in the phone system not only does he fry all the gremlins to death, but one point he stops for a split second and poses.... If only he had an 80s action movie one-liner to go with it!

"the ice storm" is outstanding. "the big chill" is good, but a bit overrated by the hippie generation. what makes it is the cast and the soundtrack.

The Big Chill is pretty much a rip-off of Return of the Secaucus 7, but it does feature Kevin Costner's third best performance.

john sayles never gets the respect he deserves. he has one of the most impeccable resumes in filmmaking, and very few people know his name.

Matewan is one of the greatest films of all time.

Hey Bagels, did you know that one of the lead roles was played by a very young Bonnie Prince Billy?
