First teaser trailer

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dzxFdtWmjto

Really hoping Hardy can carry this film. Michelle Williams is a nice addition to the cast as well.

Sony is a turd of a movie studio nowadays, so we'll see.

I don't know if I can take another Venom fuck-up.

Does Tom Hardy play characters that don't wear a mask?

I am made to understand that this movie does not occur in the 'Spiderman' universe -- which of course makes zero fucking sense -- b/c this is Sony's movie, not Disney's.

Carnage and Spider-Man will make cameos in this film.

Isn't Sony just "lending" Spiderman to Disney to appear in the Avengers movies? And in return Disney lended Iron Man to appear in the last Sony Spiderman movie?

in the comics didn't venom eventually turn white and carry machine guns and work for the government and shit?

still tho, no secret wars origin story (whatever happened to the new suit hulk got from the same machine? Thats why spider man went to the machine and got his new black suit. Huh?) no reed Richards under the church bell to get venom off of spider-man, but at least we got big guy 4u playing him!

Nice they took a chance and made his costume comic-booky instead of the mostly safe and dull costumes they usually shit out.

Kinda looks like the Spawn suit from the 90s.

...it looks exactly like the Venom 'suit.'

Todd MacFarlane created both though. Venom came first.

I know. And I would say, I was comparing the suit to the Spawn suit from the movie which was before this movie. It looks good, I hope that they get the tongue thing/size of his head down correctly.

I hope for her sake Michelle Williams gets paid properly for any re-shoots, we don't want her to have to suffer through THAT again at the hands of the evil white men signing the checks.

This movie looks like shit. Tom Hardy took this gig as a favor to let him direct something artsy under Sony Pictures Classic.

Based on the trailer, I disagree. Hope it gets an R rating.

I doubt it. Sony is painfully desperate to squeeze every last dime out of the last remaining hold they have on the superhero movie craze. They'll make this PG13, throw a few "shits" in there, and have CG venom featured for all of 25 minutes, paying zero homage to Venom's actual character arc from the comics.

James Cameron said something like enough with the fucking super hero movies already. Then I read Spielberg wants to do one.

Cameron is just trying to get the public to save their money for his 18 sequels to Avatar. He's terrified people will be burned out on CG action fuckfests before they can invest stupidly in his overwrought blue alien explosion carnival.

Spielberg only wants to do a superhero movie because he doesn't have to spend a lot of time on set. Ready Player One proved he could shoot on location for maybe 2 weeks, do the rest digitally, and make some dough. It's not George Lucas levels of being a lazy piece of shit, but it's definitely not admirable.

Add a week in there to jerk off to pictures of the Titanic.

Yeah I'm digging it too.

Really looking forward to seeing Woody Harrelson as Carnage. Supposedly, that happened in the SDCC footage.

I thought Riot was the villain? (Similar to Carnage)
