Would have to think about this. Right off the bat some names come to mind

Omar Little
Livia Soprano
Tyrione Lannister
Marty Funkhouser
Rust Cohle

It's like asking who the greatest basketball or hockey player of all time is. It's the boring answer but it's obviously Omar.

Hank Kingsley. Whenever it would seem that his outward appearance of a lazy, venal, arrogant idiot was just to cover his emotional depth, weaknesses, and insecurities, it would turn out that he really was just the lazy, venal, arrogant idiot after all. Really just a fascinating character.

Oh, I dont think it's like that at all. You could make a case that Stringer, Bodie, or even Lester are just as good as Omar. And that's JUST The Wire.

I might pick Livia. Short and sweet but perfection.

You could make a case that LeBron > MJ or some other good hockey player > Gretzky but it won't be a terribly convincing case. Same idea here.

Would have been perfect but for the last episode where they had to CGI her back in.

Christopher is the dark horse for best Sopranos character. "She must have crawled under here for warmth."

Marnie was the most interesting Girls character if, just for the sake of argument, you always had crushes on bitchy overachievers with rich parents.

If we're going with "not named Tony Soprano," I'd say Uncle Junior.

It's not hipster.

Livia, Junior, and Chris are all just as great. That's why the show was awesome.

They say there's no two people on earth exactly the same. No two faces. No two sets of fingerprints. But do they know that for sure? Because they would have to get everybody together in one huge space. And obviously, that's not possible. Even with computers!

Christopher, if not the greatest character, is the greatest dumb character.

One of my favs that's not on the list is when Christopher and Big Pussy go out to recover Emil's body by the bridge and Pussy finds him and asks if it's him, and Chris responds, "now it'd be some fucking coincidence if it wasn't."

The show went off the rails and was always more style than substance anyway, but Rothstein from Boardwalk Empire deserves a mention IMO. I suppose Harrow would be the more popular incorrect pick from that show though, much like Omar and Tyrion are for theirs.

That's great.

Also this one...

'Tony' Soprano : Blood. You're gonna lead this family into the 21st Century.

Christopher Moltisanti : Well, Tony, technically we're already in the 21st Century...

[Tony looks at him, confused]
