Yeah, Big Art Chu, they had to change the rules to have sudden-death questions for ties because of him.

The first day with Ken Jennings guest hosting. Big shoes to fill. Jennings was fine. I think they reused the final Jeopardy question from the past.

Game was a runaway, but Julie DiCaro's doppelganger really botched the landing on that one. Viva Las Planes? You got two thirds of the song title and said "Planes"?

Ken did well. It's gonna take a lot of getting used to.

Ken Jennings did a decent job yesterday for a first timer.

So former Jeopardy champs are getting a chance to guest host? I hope they give the best ever Jeopardy contestant a shot:

While it seemed to me that Jenning's reading pace was quicker than Alex's, they got through all the tiles without minutes to spare. The contestants seemed to ring in fine- I'm never quite sure how much editing for time they actually do with the episodes- I know the later games with Trebek would often see ring-ins light up while he was still speaking, thus they must have cut the video down.

He was just fine, I would not mind his selection as permanent host, but with all he's won, why would he want to work even that much?

Mrs. K says she hears Katie Couric is the host of the future. Keep it.

Not quite as stiff as Trebek is.

Was it about the mob or the Sears tower? That's the only way Chicago gets on there.

He's gone one week and the show devolves into prop comedy.

its still amazing what that computer did. they say playing chess or GO is hard for a computer to do, but i can't imagine its harder than playing fucking jeopardy. that was like 10 years ago too, kinda frightening to think what the military has right now.

Jeopardy before Alex Trabek! Very rare to find videos from that era.

Nobody knew who James Garner was? The two guys look like they're 5 ft tall on phone books. Wow, I pulled Nikki Lauda out of the vault. Jerry Krause couldn't pull it out.

A lot of silence in the Double Jeopardy round.

Brian won with his DD. No one could touch him after that. And what an easy answer to get.

2 guys in a rare tie breaker Friday's show. The couple I've seen seem extremely easy questions, making it a race to the buzzer.

You really can't ask for more how Jennings did as host. He wasn't Alex, but still very good during his brief stint.

Yeah he did better than I expected. Took a bit to get used to and he seemed to get more comfortable after the 1st couple of episodes. One of the most noticeable differences was he is much nicer with regard to mistakes and in particular when a returning champion won with a relatively low amount. Alex would always make a snide comment at the beginning of the following game such as "the contestants struggled in Final Jeopardy yesterday, hopefully this game will produce some higher scores."

Alex Trabek was edgy, and jokingly threw digs at the contestants. He could do it, because of who he was. Ken Jennings is very good, but he's doing the ultra nice guy angle, because he has to.

ive watched Jennings a few times now and ya he's good. I mean for a show like this you really don't want any limelight on the host. Trabek was a genius on how he did it but going forward, you probably want the host to just be a robot. Its all about the contestants.

Chicago question this past week. Can you get it without looking it up?

The 1893 Chicago World's Fair introduced this word for the central avenue for exhibits and amusements.

What is?
