The only thing that i find disgusting about that article is that someone listened to 41 episodes of the mike richards podcast in an attempt to find a gotcha moment... that's far worse than anything he said

There is justice after all after Richards named himself host, even though he polled the worst among the guest hosts and Levar Burton polled the best. ABC/Yahoo kept pushing him with their barrage of articles, which were total bs. Richards wasn't even one of Trebek's choices. The whole search was a farce.

I'd be fine with Levar Burton or Joe Buck. I wouldn't be surprised if they went for Katie Couric and played it safe.

I don’t believe Burton was the best but this guy sure wasn’t. And the inside job was wrong regardless of the past.

Can someone tell me why the big desire for Burton? It can’t be simply race. Is it Star Trek or a youthful love of a reading show for so many?

I haven’t watch Jeopardy in years so I cannot speak to who was better during the trial. But the way Julie seems to be framing her argument seems to be that yes Richards was better and Burton wasn’t as good but he should get the job anyway. ( because he’s black )

What Julie is saying is that she started with the conclusion, "LeBar Burton is the best host and deserves the job," and then had to work backward from there. Other people disagreed and now she is mad.

Also, other guest hosts didn't need to "grow in the role." They had it down already.

Now Richards is out as Executive Producer of Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. Looks like his ambition to be host led to people to dig up past "offensive" comments and now he lost the job he had.

i usually do ok, even better with certain categories..but turn on the studio lights, i bet all those years in my youth reading the world book encyclopedia - i'd probably draw a blank on everything.

Get down to it the host isn't that important unless they're horrible. Any mistakes can be edited out. The hosts thankfully don't have much time to talk to the viewers . Only a little at the beginning and end. If they have liberal views it's easy to FF, and never hear. Perfect to record because editors cant chop anything scoring related. Mike Richard's gone. Who cares.
