Not aging well? How dare you! I would say Seinfeld followed by The Office (UK and US combo)

I don't know if it is really their fault. It was copied by a ton of other shows either partially or completely, and Curb Your Enthusiasm kind of did it better anyways.

Honorable mention for Happy Endings and My Name Is Earl, both of which ended too early.

It's still a travesty that young people are turning Friends into the defining sitcom of the 90s. Friends was at it's best a slightly amusing show. You ask "What's the funniest Friends scene of all time?" and it's either when Chandler kisses every woman(which is not ok) or when Joey and Chandler keep reclining and declining their recliners. Yet somehow, 15 year old kids from the US and England are like "Wow. This is amazing." and then they tell their 10 year old neighbor about it who goes to their parent and says "Am I old enough to watch Friends?" and the parent laughs because Friends made Everybody Loves Raymond seem edgy in comparison. Also, how do these people afford to live in a condo that would be valued at roughly $10 million when only one of them has a moderately high paying job?

Whichever one I can quote incessantly rather than developing a personality of my own.

Sitcom stands for situational comedy.

I thought it was because you sit down to watch them.

Agreed. Curb is better.

I'm starting to watch Curb again. It's a great show but it's impossible to compete with Seinfeld when it comes to the huge cast of secondary characters.

Seinfeld will always be my favorite.

All in the Family is a close 2nd.

Honorable mention:

Taxi
Bob Newhart
Fresh Prince
Sanford & Son
Threes Company
Big Bang Theory

Taxi was a good show. I loved three's company too.

South Park or Seinfeld is probably my favorite. I try to catch Fraiser when I can too.

I don’t consider it a sitcom but for some reason it is, “The Wonder Years”.

“Frasier” is up there, “Cheers”, “Taxi”, “Dick van Dyke”, “The Honeymooners”, “MASH”, “Seinfeld”, “Fresh Prince”, “Cosby Show”, “Family Ties”, and “Family Matters”.

Definitely into the 20th century: “It’s Always Sunny”, “Malcolm in the Middle”, “That 70’s Show” and “30 Rock”.

Good call on The Wonder Years and That 70's Show. Definitely both top 10 for me. I'm tempted to put That 70's show in the 3rd or 4th slot. Was hilarious and I was the perfect age for it. The last 2 season were crap but I just rewatched the other season on Netflix and it holds up big time!

14 year old daughter and her group love Friends but don't fond Seinfeld funny at all

I just had her watch the Crazy Joe Davola episode yesterday. Nary a laugh

That 70s Show is a good choice. I should have added that.

I watch very few as an adult, but I have to go with the Office. Just a lot of well done characters.

Sadly, my childhood was filled with the cheese of these things:
Facts of Life
Different Strokes
Family Ties
Silver Spoons
Three’s Company

And I loved them all.

Justine Bateman or Dana Plato? Who would you rather?

I generally hate any comedy CBS offers but The King of Queens was great. I could look at early seasons leah remini all day even if there wasn't comedy

Eh.

Why does CBS produce so much trash TV? The last decade they were relevant was probably the 1970's.

They get huge ratings.

They can roll out a show where the main plot device is whether a nerd in need of a kidney transplant will ultimately end up sleeping with the woman who gave him the kidney and get 5 million viewers easily.
