Is The Simpsons a sitcom- I need a ruling before I just list it, you know

The first five or six seasons of Simpsons was must-see tv for me.
Loved King of the Hill after that, but not sure it fits, either.

MASH was the only show i watched regularly as a kid, but that has so many serious episodes, especially later in its run that sitcom is a stretch there, too.

I guess I just better answer Breaking Bad

Forgot about The League. That show had a good run.

WKRP in Cincinnati is my favorite.

Others have been mentioned that were also great -- The Dick Van Dyke Show, The Andy Griffith Show, The Cosby Show, etc.

Episodes (Seasons 1 and 2 were excellent. Season 3 is good. Seasons 4 and 5 will make you regret the fact that you own a TV.)

1. Seinfeld
2. It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
3. Veep
4. Silicon Valley
5. Parks and Recreation

I second Taxi and King of Queens as really strong honorable mentions.

Also, much like The Office, I think Seinfeld is going to have a big resurgence once it hits Netflix (in 4K!) later this year. Generation Z will come to adore it.

Though known as Monica’s apartment, the apartment actually belongs to Ross and Monica’s grandmother, for whom the apartment was rent-controlled. Because of this Monica continues to sublet the apartment under her grandmother’s name and therefore, technically, is living there illegally – an issue that is raised most prominently during the earlier seasons of the show.

I knew a Friends superfan would know.

Not aging well? How dare you! I would say Seinfeld followed by The Office (UK and US combo)

It's still a travesty that young people are turning Friends into the defining sitcom of the 90s. Friends was at it's best a slightly amusing show. You ask "What's the funniest Friends scene of all time?" and it's either when Chandler kisses every woman(which is not ok) or when Joey and Chandler keep reclining and declining their recliners. Yet somehow, 15 year old kids from the US and England are like "Wow. This is amazing." and then they tell their 10 year old neighbor about it who goes to their parent and says "Am I old enough to watch Friends?" and the parent laughs because Friends made Everybody Loves Raymond seem edgy in comparison. Also, how do these people afford to live in a condo that would be valued at roughly $10 million when only one of them has a moderately high paying job?

You’re rather passionate about this huh?

Another good one. As a kid, I believe channel 9 had it on at 10pm on Sundays, then I'd switch over to 11 for Monty Python at 10:30.

It had a good first couple seasons, but was absolutely unwatchable midway through it's run. No way can a show that inconsistent be on anyone's best ever list.

HBO's Barry might crack some people's top 10 list in the not too distant future. I can't believe we'll have waited 3 years for a new season. I don't think I've ever laughed as hard or as long like I did watching rony/lilly supermarket episode.

Maybe it doesn't fit in the sitcom category though. I just really miss it.
