Just recently heard of this and rented it. This movie is fucking awesome. Wish they would’ve made a sequel

Great watch. I always thought Hardy was kind of a bitch and had no idea how/why he was cast as Bane. I’m assuming - with absolutely zero fact checking - that it was almost entirely due to Warrior.

I love Rocky. My initial impression is this movie is better. Im willing to ignore that a fighter knocking out 3 of the best mma fighters in the world in 5 seconds or less is the equivalent of making a movie about an nba player who averages 75 ppg but i dont care. So badass how he just dipped immediately afterwards. I also appreciate the courteousness of the military police to not arrest him for desertion until the end of this awesome tournament and then to not do it at all

It plays very heavily on so many potential emotional pain points for the target audience:

- brother-brother
- father-son
- husband-wife
- father-daughter
- abandonment, lack of emotional development, etc.

Good movie. I rewatch it prob once a year or so. Nolte’s not bad but I don’t think it’s nearly as compelling if Hardy isn’t doing his best Goldberg impression.

Very emotionally manipulative. I don’t mean that in a bad way; it’s just a kind of check list for potential problems for the young & male.

Yeah, agreed Notle’s fine. He was going for it but wasnt as good as he could’ve been.

Hardy should’ve won an oscar

But yeah agreed it’s definitely over the top a bit at times in the way you describe but overall thats fine, if it was like one or teo notches further it would’ve ruined the movie completely. Definitely more than one like ok we get it man scenes

I insisted my wife watch it once and I think she may have looked up from her phone once. That’s when I realized this movie, which I thought was so great, was clearly was made for people in my demo.

Again - not a criticism. It’s a very watchable movie. And Hardy’s character would be on a Mount Rushmore of badasses if more people had seen it.

I'm like a half hour into this movie and it is fucking awesome. Noltee and Hardy are great.

I have to do some yard work now but will definitely return to it later.

It is a good flik, I only watched it because Hardy was in it. He is a great actor.. you can tell he took his role seriously and looked the part. Check out The Drop, Bronson, Lawless, Taboo( tv series)

Note played Nolte. He was pretty much the same guy from down and out in Beverly Hills. Joel Edgerton seemed the most uncomfortable and I thought he still at that did pretty well. I think his next movie was The Gift where Jason Bateman bullied him which seemed odd in juxtaposition

You know he is a real pro level fighter. He goes in under fake names into tournaments and is kicking ass and taking names

Was hoping this was about the 1979 cult classic film. Warriors…, come out and play-ay.

I’d heard that, but I assumed it was some Mickey Mouse thing in rural Britain.
