I do like that it is a more representative portrayal this year of who guys like Magic and Buss really were.

You kind of forget that Buss was doing the buttons down to the navel look about 10 years after it went out of style. John C. Reilly has become a fantastic actor.

Kareem is portrayed well, but I always liked him anyway. He is complex in real life and not always the good, wise man.

The one who gets an absolute pass is that skrag Jeannie Buss. I assume that, if they do tell some truth about her, it will be portrayed as her just being a powerful, liberated woman

Everyone who is portrayed in the show hates it. West wanted to sue the shit out of McKay and HBO, but if he's watching Season 2 and has any sense of humor at all, he should be thinking he's made to seem really cool.

You'd have to be a real dope to think this shit is realistic, though McKay wants to suggest it is by dropping in chyrons that say shit like, "YES, THIS DID ACTUALLY HAPPEN."

Paul Westhead's portrayal is especially egregious. Imagine if Tom Thibodeau was in this thing. He'd be drooling and being spoon fed by Cap during time outs.

Hasn't Bird been transmogrified into the embodiment of the New White Supremacy by this show? That seemed to be where they were going in the first season. I haven't watched any of season two. I'd be pissed about my treatment in season one if I were Bird.

Jerry Buss 'leaked' Magic's contract...... at a press conference.

In essence, they spent almost entire episode creating a rift between Magic and teammates that completely disappeared with one fist to a blackboard.

Season 2 sounds like shit then. I won't bother even checking it out. It was ridiculous how they made Pat Riley some kind of enuch in season 1. Sad thing is the kids of today watching this will take this as a realistic documentary.

I am almost done with season one and this is exactly how I feel about it. I realize some of this stuff is bullshit but it’s pretty entertaining. I stayed away from it because I thought it would be really stupid but Ive enjoyed the acting, especially Jerry Buss.
