COZI plays Quincy reruns all morning when I’m working from home. Great background stuff while starting up.

Columbo, Banacek, and Streets of San Francisco were all cutting edge for the time.

He always had envelopes in his coat. There'd be a bunch of evidence spread around, and BJ would pull out an enveloped and scoop some up. I always thought that was cool.

Good theme music, too.

Fred Dryer, member of the fearsome foursome for the Rams, was a TV detective. It sucked.

Agreed. Very underrated.

If we are restricting it to murder, I guess I cannot nominate Rockford Files.

But, I'm good with Quincy and Barnaby Jones.

Mickey Spillane's Mike Hammer was pretty good too

I used to love the theme music on it too.

Quincy was a public sector employee, so he must have had a baseball bat for a cock to pull in all the tail he got each season.

Hunter is awesome. McCall looked good depending on the haircut and wardrobe that drastically and frequently changed during the show's run. They play 2 episodes weeknights on one of the antenna stations....Get TV I think. It's on right now and tonight's episode is guest starring Sloth from Goonies.

The Killing was some good, gloomy television.

This is the best episode of Quincy:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LjHV9wQv6u8

"Do you work here?"

"I'm with the Coroner's Office."

"Suuuure. I've heard you guys play before. You got a great band."

Barnaby Jones is great
I like Cannon too
Perry Mason is probably my favorite, but every episode is the same (I guess you could say that about a lot of shows )
