There's a ton of Pete Davidson going around, like a virus...but this one might actually be worth watching. I've watched the first 2 episodes, and the 2nd is definitely 100% better than the 1st...although the 1st has some nice moments.

I think the verdict so far for me is that Davidson is fine in smaller doses, and helped very much so by supporting actors that are ten times better than him. It looks like a ton of people are going to be in it (there are 8 total episodes i believe) and so far Bobby Canavale, Joe Pesci, and Edie Falco have been the highlights. Jane Curtain has been in it, Brad Garrett...and there's more to come.

It's a fictional biography of Pete's life up to now. That's the premise. He moves back home with his mom, and it goes from there.

I'll probably watch the rest after that 2nd episode.

Pete seems to have a guardian angel helping his career somewhere in the industry.

He's fine, he's talented, but there's no way I should have look at his ugly mug almost on a daily basis.

He's definitely talented at something.

finally got around to finishing this over the weekend. it was a total mixed bag. the 2nd episode remained the strongest. the last 2 episodes were decent. but the show just couldn't find a consistent tone or purpose. the "fast & furious" episode was really dumb. and pete davidson's dumb humor just falls flat to me. the best parts of the show were when it was sweet or about his family stuff.

the self-destructive thing with him, like his poppy said, was not endearing. it was just childish and his friends sucked.

i will say, i think machine gun kelly has a decent sense of humor about himself. he was willing to make himself a target in the last "Jackass" movie and he somewhat parodies himself in this when pete goes to rehab.

the story just meandered, though, and seemed to want to be random but the directionlessness of the whole thing just made it feel like it was missing something. it was missing a center.

oh well. it might get picked up for a 2nd season but i don't think i'd be interested. the cameos weren't enough. the backstory wasn't enough. pesci was the best part of it but he couldn't carry it himself.

:D :D out of :D :D :D :D

My wife and I are halfway through it and not sure we will go back after the Fast and Furious episode you mentioned. Some funny parts but quite a few bits that just miss the mark. I don't find Davidson objectionable overall. Hope he is saving his money as I believe he will be gone from the scene here within a few years.
