I've enjoyed Kenneth Branagh's Hercule trilogy, but this one I think was my favorite. Not just because it was more horror/thriller, but the story was just more interesting to me. I wasn't sure I was going to like Tina Fey since she looks almost too contemporary to be in a 1940's setting, but she found her way into her character enough to not stick out like a sore thumb. The performances were all very good, and blending the ghost story into it, while taking place on Halloween, worked well. It even gave me the creeps a few times.

There are some gorgeous shots of Venice--another nice touch on these films, that almost serve as travelogues (as did previous adaptations).

A nice way to start the season of Halloween.

:D :D :D out of :D :D :D :D
