Are any of you watching Tokyo Vice on Max?

It's a cheesy name, but a fantastic show that charts the professional advancement of the first American reporter, Jake Adelstein, to work at Tokyo's most prestigious newspaper. Adelstein works the crime beat and seeks to report "what's really happening" in contrast to the fictitious accounts of criminal activity fed to the newspaper by Tokyo police. Adelstein is consumed with the machinations of the Yakuza, and his work brings him into contact with the full spectrum of Japanese society. In this respect, Tokyo Vice resembles The Wire in its rendering of a society where "everything is connected", a world that irretrievably blurs the lines separating criminal and legal activity, the acceptable and unacceptable, legitimate and illegitimate enterprise, professional and personal identity, and social conventions and sociopathic behavior. Michael Mann's involvement with the series ensures that it conducts its social meditation in the context of a pervasive sense of alienation, disconnection and obsession that is heightened by Adelstein's status as an outsider within Japanese society.

Agree, Jake was an odd choice for the role, but he did it proud. And Tozawa is amazing, i was scared of him. Katagiri is a great cop.
