Also, the show is really hurt by not allowing the word fuck. I guess maybe it's because of the ratings but I think it's unbelievable that AMC isn't granting the show the same leniency it did with Breaking Bad, one f bomb per season or so. If you change that one sentence to "They're fucking with the wrong people" it instantly upgrades the show from like a C- to a C and the Rick character from a F to a C-.

I've been beating the drum about Rick for years. He's fucking weak. Shane would have been a better leader. Rick always realizes things way too fuckin late.

Negan is an oxygen tank keeping this show alive

I only partially agree with you on that. I thought Shane was a very weak two dimensional character but I can see how someone would think that's preferable to Rick who is the most phony tough guy I've ever seen.

Not talking about character and how interesting he is for the viewer, talking from a standpoint of who you'd want leading if it were you trying to survive.

Shane understood the new world like 4 seasons before Rick.

The show is short on interesting characters and most of them are dead.

Interesting characters
Merle
The Governor
Michonne
Eugene
Morgan
Negan

And yet Rick is the one who is still alive and many of the "smarter" characters died.

Yep, very unrealistic that he's alive and they are dead.

When should he have died though? He made some dumb decisions but so did everyone in the show. That includes Shane who made so many dumb decisions that he was lucky to make it as long as he did.

If I'm picking characters to lead me it's Michonne and I can't even think of a close second.

Realistically (in zombie show terms) Shane kills him at the farm.

Oh and with the hunter group Daryl was with. That guy would have just shot him instead of telling the guys to hold off and let him fight.

Maybe, very distant second though. If I'm in a war I can't have my leader going off to cry in a cottage for a season and a half.

But he didn't. You can't play the "Realistically" card because realistically Rick would have done things differently too.

Yes. She has become the strongest character, though much of it was because of her alliance with Rick.

Oh, and fuck Dwight. Some of you assholes were saying this show did a good job humanizing him. You gotta be fucking kidding me. He's one of the weakest characters in the series. The "Didn't Know" figurine was sort of cool but a solid 98% of his screen time has been among the worst of the series.

With the group, not Rick. Once she realized she didn't want to be a "walker" the rest of her days she's been great.

I said it 3 seasons ago. Rick is the worst possible leader. Every decision he makes leads to more problems.

The Farm was surviving. Rick comes in and half the occupants get killed and they have to leave.

Alexandria was a safe community. Rick comes in and kills people and makes a move on the guy's wife. Then he has a bright idea to clear a horde of zombies from a quarry that's not town-adjacent and ends up having them all overrun Alexandria and caused the death of numerous Alexandrians.

People should not listen to Rick.

They should kill him the first chance they get.

Alexandria was a safe community because the writers are terrible on this show(obviously same reason Rick sucks). There's no chance Negan didn't know about that place his entire time but then found it a very short time after Rick took over.

That's true but that is kind of what Rick's group does. They infiltrate a group and then slowly take it over while keeping a select few to keep their numbers up.

I think a more interesting thing is that Rick's group are actually worse than any other group they've beaten so far and that includes Negan's.

The fakest thing about this whole show is still the Tyrese Rick fight.

It made Rocky fights look like Mayweather-Pacquio

Negan's group is pretty awful. I would much, much rather watch a show about Negan than Rick, but I can't say Rick's group is worse morally. I think the premeditated slaughtering of dozens of people by Rick's group probably put them about equal. At least in Rick's group you can have your own wife.

I'd love to blame that on Rick but I think that giant horde was coming for the farm no matter what.

To say nothing of the fact that hundreds of people are cruelly ruled by one guy just because he has a leather jacket and baseball bat.

Maybe but if I remember right it was going the other way until they heard the gunshots and then turned.

Rick is the Jose Quintana of the Walking Dead world.

Either he's bad or incredibly unlucky.

You serious? They all know what Negan is(or at least a vast majority do) and are complicit in every action Negan takes. You cannot separate the group morally from Negan. They are responsible for his every sin/fault.

Oh, and they don't even have guns so they ride around on horses like William Wallace.

Once this show starts losing viewers they are eventually gonna have Daryl and Aaron hook up I assume. There are a ton of possible jump the shark moments available that I have no doubt this awful writing team will explore.

Last season hemorrhaged viewers I think. Started off high but they lost something like 5 million viewers by the finale.
