Gimple out as show runner but looks to be promoted like Kenny Williams.

Show renewed again.

I think Lincoln's contract is done after 8. They'll kill him.

Hard to watch that episode.
Took a little too long to kill off Carl.
But that last sequence...

Die already.

Was Carl really that beloved a character?

Yes.

The whole story was supposedly about him (at least in the comics) but the show is so fucked who knows.

I don't read the comics. I have never considered the television show to be about him.

I liked last night's episode. I never thought Chandler Riggs was a good actor, but he put in a solid performance for his farewell. Morgan going all Charles Bronson on the saviors was a nice spot too. This episode really should have been the mid-season finale in the fall, and then they could have started fresh going into the second half of this season.

zzzzzzzzzzzzz

Killing Carl was stupid, having him die over 5 episodes was like watching paint dry.

What part don't you understand?

Go back and watch, he was bitten several episodes ago.

Okay, but you're acting like we got 5 episodes of Carl laying in bed dying. That didn't happen. Nobody knew he was bit.

Didn't Carl just get bit in the previous episode?

Interesting last second of the show with Rick under a tree with a stomach wound.

Is that like a "Who Shot JR" moment where we will see Carl alive at the end of the series, and its really Rick who got bit and is hallucinating?

Kirkman said many times that Rick does not make it to the end.

If they did that, I think I'd almost be impressed.

But the show has very little to do with the books anymore, and I don't think they care what Kirkman says.

Rick never woke up from the hospital bed.

That's what the Missus said. That would be a lame story and a cop out. The world is violent and Rick* got many, many, many people killed by his own stupidity and shifting from sentimental to ruthless without rhyme or reason. You can't pull the plug on suffering like you can in The Matrix (which sucked). That would be so irresponsible.

*Rick, not BRick

Everything is fine. No more zombies. Shane still banging his wife. Rick wakes up and yells for Coral.

This war needs to end for good now. It's gone on way too long though the next storyline probably just gets worse.

After 1.5 hours of impassioned speeches from Carl about how the future should be, the views into next week's episode shows Rick surrounded by carnage. Thanks Carl.

I liked his dream with Negan tending the garden.

The show seems to be coming to the point of the characters realizing this war is causing mutual destruction but they aren't quite ready yet. It looks like Rick and Negan get trapped together at some point. Maybe they talk it out and move on as neither has a home anymore. Negan liked the life in Alexandria and not just for his group. He liked the world Rick had created there. I don't think he believes it is sustainable.

Way too long.

And who is dreaming about a neutered (or possibly batshit/baathist insane) Farmer Negan?

We're going to get a bigger enemy that will force Negan and Rick together. I think the Gubmint (remember the helicopter) is going to come down and try to take all their guns away.
