I'm just glad they didn't follow the black woman's suggestion that it is somehow god's wrath.

He said your wife is pregnant, and it's not his child.

That is a great guess but I'm not sure he'd be able to tell that from a mother's and father's blood sample. That really was good thinking though.

I stole it from the comments of the link someone posted. It's a fun thought, but probably false.

Maybe she tested positive for opium. I specifically remember poppy seed consumption.

It's a good guess. I've never been knocked up and no one tells me these things until it's too late to do something about it but can you tell pregnancy by a blood test? It wouldn't seem that there would be any change in blood caused due to pregnancy.

I say someone in the group is infected. Remember Jenner never said that no one was infected, only that the blood work revealed no suprises.

I think you are close GD. In the comics, it is revealed that everyone in the world is ALREADY infected with the virus/disease that causes you to become a zombie, but the virus doesn't get triggered until you die. So even people who die of natural causes or by any non-zombie means will turn into a zombie shortly after death. That could be why Jenner said "no surprises" as in, unfortunately there were no surprises and all of you are just as infected as everyone body else in the world.

sorry, didn't think it was that big a deal and I could be wrong as well so its just speculation on my part. Considering how much they have veered off the comic book path there's no telling what the guy whispered....or even if the part about everyone already being infected is even true in the tv show.

I wouldn't take the comic stuff as gospel especially considering if they were to stick to the comic a major character would've died before the credits rolled Sunday....and that character is still living and breathing heading into next season.

Just in case.

I didn't know we had spoiler tags here, I'll do that in the future. Sorry about that.

I just read that this was the highest rated series on cable this year. Pretty crazy...

Quote:
'The Walking Dead' finale breaks ratings records

The ratings for "The Walking Dead's" just-ended first season have been such that perhaps AMC is wishing that it had lasted more than just six weeks.

The anticipation for the season finale garnered six million viewers, according to the network, and it received the highest ratings of any basic cable show, ever, in the all-important 18-49 demographic.

To put those numbers into perspective, October's season finale of "Mad Men" had an audience of 2.44 million, according to TVbytheNumbers.com.

(On the other hand, that 18-49 number is very important, because the New York Post reported in 2007 that a post-"High School Musical 2" episode of "Hannah Montana," with much of its audience under 18, averaged 10.7 million viewers.)

As hot as "The Walking Dead" is, it's not quite to the level of some episodes of "The Sopranos" final season, which on two occasions had around 13 million viewers.

Still, the network says that "The Walking Dead's" average 18-49 viewership of 3.5 million for this season makes it the most watched drama series in basic cable history in the demographic.

The big question is, now that the show has grown beyond its core fanbase, will the "Dead-heads" tune in once again next Halloween (the likely start date for season two), despite the long wait? What do you think? Share your comments below.

Look at my post a couple above yours. You already read it and I've never seen the comic. I should be a writer.

Just finished watching the 2nd episode and this show has officially sucked me in.
Hoping to watch one episode a day the rest of this week and get caught back
up. Had me on the edge of my seat when the rain started and the zombies
started catching onto the fact that they weren't one of their kind. I've been
trying to stay out of this thread to avoid spoilers but just had to comment
after watching episode 2 this morning.

Wow, just Wow. What an interesting series and I am a bit saddened it will be on hiatus
for so long. I really liked how they left it with everyone who survived driving away and
not knowing what they were going to do next. The Dylan song they played at the end
was a great haunting version of " Tomorrow Is A Long Time " and quite fitting based on
the characters circumstances. I am sure they'll rerun the first six in anticipation of the
new season so I guess I'll tune back in around mid - September.

The good thing about the cast is that there really is not a single one with star quality. They probably will never leave the show for bigger pay days.

Robert Kirkman talks a lot about Walking Dead. Pretty funny podcast if you want to give it a listen that ranges from sasquatch masturbation to zombie apocolypse survival strategies

I tried so very hard to get into this show. But I found that I didn't like any of the characters and I wanted the zombies to win. And then the zombies would come and instead of fighting them they would get together in a team meeting and argue. And they proceed to do the dumbest thing they could possibly do in every situation. I still have the last episode of season 1 sitting on my DVR and I want to watch it to say I watched the entire first season but I don't want to watch it because it sucks.

Should have my copy of the new novel, Walking Dead: Rise of the Governor by tomorrow. Between that and the second season starting up I'm pretty fired up.

The only question is....will we see the Governor this season or not? I'm guessing maybe at the very end of season 2. But then again, they might speed things up and bring him in sooner.

Anyone know if Michonnis is going to make an appearance this season?

From the short clips I've seen in the ads for the new season, it looks like the prison will be a part of the 2nd season. That means the Governor might show up.

I wonder if the season will end with them finding the prison or if they'll actually get to spend some time there in season 2? I imagine we'll get an episode or 2 at the abandoned neighborhood (forgot the name) and then they'll be at the farm for a buch of episodes. Yeah, I guess there should be plenty of time to get to the prison and get acquainted with the surroundings and all the new characters. Probably have time to end the season with the Governor showing up. I'm assuming the guy who cut off his hand in season 1 will emerge as the Governor in the tv version. I big departure from the book, but I can see why they would want to do it that way and I don't have a problem with it.

I no longer have cable. I think they have full episodes at their website after they have been shows, so I'll have to watch it that way.
