Could be a different "them".

I didnt see that as in the future.

I didn't either but I think it was Gimple who said there were 4 timelines last night. Couldn't think of another one that would be different.

Maybe they are using speech Rick as it's own timeline

Not sure why this GREAT WHITE FONT was jettisoned, but I will not take responsibility.

This would work better I think. But who cares.

Loved the episode, surprised they would show us scenes from the time jump this early.

The title of the episode and the scene with Rick talking about mercy makes it pretty obvious that the show is going to follow the comics in terms of the eventual fate of Negan.

Things seem really sped up, I'm guessing the war is completely over by half way point the latest and we get the time jump for the 2nd half of the season.

The fast forwarding is really going to happen, and isn't just a daydream in this episode?

Yes. Either next season or second half of this one.

I hope you're right. My fear was the whole season would be the war, and that would be bad.

Haven't watched for a few seasons and watched last nights. Anyone explain why Negan can just stand in front of 40 people that want him dead with semi automatic weapons and no one fires a shot into his head as he talks to Rick. The earlier plan appeared to be a straight assassination for him.

Don't see myself tuning in again.

That's what I posted about earlier. That scene just makes no sense. Within 2 seconds of walking out the door, he should have been shot.

I think the entire first half of this season will be the same sequence of events from last night's episode, but you will get the perspective of most of the main players from each side in their own individual arc. Neegan probably dies at the end of the mid-season finale.

The 'flash-forward' stuff with old man Rick looks to be some sort of dream sequence. I'm guessing he will have some sort of major loss by the end of the mid-season with Michonne, Carol, or Judith getting killed. (I highly doubt this show would whack Michonne).

Other thing i noticed, the average survivor appears be packing on a little weight. Good to see BBWs are thriving in the walker world.

I liked it even with the multiple timelines. I'm excited for the moment in the future timeline where Rick turns to Michonne and screams "We have to go back! We have to go back to the Prison!"

Will Jerry fix a decades old van and drive it around while Ezekiel runs around laughing?

Yes. Either next season or second half of this one.

I'd rather just kill him off.

Kind of a ho hum episode. I am pretty tired of Ezekiel and his tiger. I also thought that gun battle was one of the lamest things I
have seen on the show. Firing machine guns at each other from 25 feet away and constantly missing.

Another meh episode.

The "surprise" return at the end I didn't really care about either.

At least there was no Negan.

Didn't Rick start the season with a rousing the troop speech about only one person has to die and then immediately sent his crew out on an insane murder spree?

Did anything happen in that episode besides an all-out killing spree? I wish I could write TV drama.

I'm still on the bandwagon of the timeline being all distorted this season. In the season premeire, they essentially defeated Negan. Why would they now be running around trying to kill off the rest of his pawns?

The cars with the sheet metal 'armor' got fudged up last night, but appeared to be in good condition in the season opener at Negan's main compound. But who knows. The show is very iffy in quality right now and that could just be a detail they are ignoring.

For an episode that had a lot of action, nothing happened.

Larry David would be proud of that episode.

3 for 3.

Potential Rick and Daryl issue brewing the only semi-interesting thing that happened.

I fear the War will go beyond the next 5 episodes.

How many soldiers does Negan have? Like 10,000? Rick and Company seem to kill scores of Negan's soldiers every weekend. And they killed a bunch last year. I guess we see hints at a correction coming up, but you'd think the Saviors would be depleted--unless, of course, they have their own sources of allies, besides the trash people.

None of these episodes are ever satisfying. I should just binge-watch.

Better episode this week but it has become a pretty low bar to jump over this season. I'm actually looking forward to seeing some of
the good guys get mowed down next week from that snipers perch. Unfortunately I am pretty sure that Ezekiel and the tiger will
remain intact.
