I don't see the Hound vs his brother happening since his brother is already dead. The Mountain is just a zombie creation made up of many parts, not just the Mountains.

There was no reason they needed a wight.

And Dany could go see anytime she wanted.

How else would they convince Kings Landing that he threat is real without a wight?

And why would Dany ever go beyond the wall unless there was an emergency? Sight seeing?

Well, it's apparently only a 20 minute dragon ride from Dragonstone to beyond the Wall, so she could make an afternoon of it

Why would King's Landing believe that the wight is real and not some foreign magic?

Dany could have went up after Jon told her what was happening.

It was a contrived plan that made no sense other than to put the heroes in danger and cost Dany a dragon.

It's possible that it was supposed to have been Lady Stoneheart that was brought to Cersei to convince her of undead status but they didn't know back then that she was important enough to keep in the plot so now they had to come up with some other "plan".

It's a bad plan but the Magnificient 7 stuff at the beginning of all these characters coming together was great. My biggest problem was the time. I thought they'd only been there half a day on that rock but apparently it was supposed to have been more like 4 days if you science-up how long it takes a lake to refreeze. Still, bad plot point but cool episode.

oh now we have problems with the timing stuff do we???

Could have easily said that Redhead dude caught a rogue Wight at Eastwatch and have Jon just go there and pick it up to take back.

Maybe they'll believe it, maybe they won't. But its worth a try and its the best plan unless you have a better plan that was never mentioned.

Sure, dany could go up north, but why would she drop her own war to go check out a rumor in the north?

It wasn't contrived, it clearly advanced the story and finally showed us there is something out there that can defeat dragons.

I enjoyed the episode but if you are of a mind to poke holes in the plot.

Jon went to Dragonstone to beg Dany to come help him fight the WW. She basically said no.

Jon goes north, sends her a raven asking her to come help him fight the WW and she drops everything and goes immediately.

How is that a plot hole? Circumstances obviously changed when Jon and co (people Dany cares about) were in immediate danger.

Dumb post doc. At least join the other idiots ripping on this amazing show because of travel times.

Nothing changed from Dany's perspective.

In the interest of balance and fairness to the writers, I will say "You're with Brienne of fucking Tarth" pretty much saved the entire episode

It was good, although I disagree on this part

* While trying to board Drogon, Jon is instead dragged into the freezing water, unarmed, by a bunch of wights — who, let me remind you, are zombies who do not need to breathe, on top of being hard to kill unless you have fire (which isn’t easy to come by underwater) handy — and later emerges without any explanation of how he was able to fight them off in that circumstance.

What are they gonna do under water?

Also, it might be possible that Jon Snow can no longer be killed.

Probably more than Jon is able to do.

But that part wasn't nearly as bad the week or two before when Bronn and Jamie managed to swim under water across an entire lake without Dany or anyone in her army thinking to stop them even though Jamie just tried to murder Dany right beforehand.

Where did the chains come from? How can WWs rig chains to a dragon at the lake bottom but can swim? 0

It was a trap the Night King set.

He had his Others build ice chains for years.

Then lured Jon and the rest of the good guys into the True North.

Is Jon Snow as much of a beta midget in the books as he is on TV?

He told her face to face that they were all going to die if she didn't do something and she chose not to do anything and let him leave.

Then he emails her "Hey, we're dying up here, little help?" and she runs up there.

Doesn't track for me. But, hey, there's fucking ice dragons now!

Yup. She fell in love with Jon on Dragonstone. That's the only reason she risked her and her children's lives.

How does everyone know it was Viserion? I don't recall anyone saying it.

Subtitles. (for me)

Coloration for the nerds. The way they were described in the books made them seem way different. On the show, they all look the same to me.

Interviews after the show.

I think Emilia Clarke said it was Viserion too.
