the state farm commercial i'm titling "is this suede?" has infected all of TV and it's really gotten to clockwork orange levels of stroke-inducing effects. this thing has aired probably three hundred times in just the last few weeks. it's a cute idea, but it's so overplayed...

I don't think it's a tv or radio ad, maybe I hear it on podcasts or some shit,
but there's an ad for some kind of deodorant where they have a sampling of dudes
talk about how 'it's like the hoover dam for my armpits', or 'it's pretty masculine, my girl likes it'.
:x :x :x :x :puker: :puker: :puker:

Oh, and those 'Chevy for Millenials' ads have met their match.

It's Dove. I complained on the previous page about it. I don't think he could sound any less masculine.

Somebody may have posted this already, but I'm streaming the Score this morning. Every commercial break seems to have "Flo reading poetry." She's bad enough, but the poetry reads are just horrible.

Silvy's reads for MeUndies are torturous.

First of all, "MeUndies" is an annoying name for the product. Combine that with Silvy's voice, which can at times be described as annoying, and it is a festival of suck.

Did Silvy do a squatty potty commercial?

I don't stain MeUndies now that I use a Squatty Potty.

I'm surprised they didn't have Waddle do a "...hot dog, smothered in MeUndies." spot.

How bout those Gillette On Demand ads?
Muscle bro realizes he's out of blades only AFTER he lathers his face up with shaving cream,
so he texts Gillette with his nose  to send him some new razors.
Motherfucker, you're OUT OF BLADES!!! YOU CAN'T SHAVE!!! Rinse the goddamned shaving cream
off your face and hands and pick up the phone with your hand like a normal, nonretarded person.
Oh, and who keeps their fucking iPhone on the vanity when they're about to splash water everywhere????
Adverstising makes me wanna scream.......... :x :x :x

Is the guy in the Body Armor sports drink commercial (I have only heard these on AM1000) Stephen A. Smith or just someone who is supposed to sound like him? I think it's the latter.

Look out in the street there. You know what you don't see? My car.

I don't hate them, just have noticed they've been playing these anti-drunk driving ads a lot the last few weeks leading up to 4th of July weekend.

You know what else you don't see? My girlfriend.

Look, pal. If she bails at the first bit of adversity, then you are better off without her.

Grossinger will deliver your new car to your home or office FOR FREE!

Does anybody actually buy a car that way, and if so, is it really a major selling point worth mentioning in a commercial?

"You owe it to yourself" is spreading across commercials like a particularly bad rash again. I remember reading about what a good line this was in a radio newsletter almost ten years ago. Now every time I hear it I scream inside. I don't owe myself anything. Shut up shut up shut up.

What is advertising besides sowing seeds of discontent among the masses regarding the things they don't have?

I am reminded of the recent Charles Osgood spot for Indeed.com. "Claim your $50 credit..." (subliminally suggesting you personally have property waiting to be claimed.)

The new Cheerios commercials "Good goes around and around" are MASSIVELY annoying.

They played a version that had to be several minutes long before the movie on Saturday.

I would pay good money to see Flo beat to death with a tire iron.

Why is there a sudden surge in commercial voice over work going to women who sound like 15 year old girls? That Potbelly "Feed Your Smile" campaign is exhibit A.

These WSCR "25th Anniversary Moments" are a joke. They seem to be all from the last 5-10 years and 90% Bernstein. The producers and/or management are either too lazy to find some of the countless gems from yesteryear, or they don't want people to remember how good things used to be.

Steak Dinner Boom was actually the one they played this morning.

CBS corporate would never go for it, but I'd like to hear some of the commercial spots they used to run back in the day. Some of the younger posters here would not believe what they could get away with. The Heavenly Bodies spot must've run for 10 years straight.

Back when the hosts got along, they would actually do parodies of each others' commercials. The Monsters might do a spot for Hawthorne Race Course ("Bachelor parties at Hawthorne -- they throw the hookers at ya!"), and then the HFC would do a mock version of that commercial for The Butcher Shop, poking fun at North.

The one Bernstein flashback I would like to hear again was the Dave McGinnis fisaco. If memory serves, he was the one reporting from Halas Hall that day.
