If you liked Goodfellas, go see The Departed. Best film I've seen in a long time. Great acting, too, and I don't really like Leonardo Dicaprio.

I've been looking forward to seeing it. The trailer looks great.

Say what you will about Dicaprio, I think he's a great actor.

There is a fantastic nude scene in Titanic. It is long enough to finish the job if you are so inclined.

Sorry, Leo doesn't do it for me like that. What kind of a board is this?

She's a binge/purge type of girl. She was curvy in Titanic but not fat. You take your natural redheads when you can get them and yes, I do remember my advice about them.

What does BBW mean. I see it occasionally . I always thought it was big but willing.

The Departed comes out on DVD on Tuesday the 13th for those of you who weren't lucky enough to catch it in the theatre.

Just saw it tonight.

I thought it was pretty good, but not great. Started out good, slowed down a lot in the middle, then picked up again at the end.

I found myself checking my watch during the middle. While I know it was necessary to help tie the story together, it was done loosely and predictably. It didn't ruin the movie for me, but it lowered it from "great" to "good."

Acting in this movie was GREAT! Damon, Nickolus, and DeCaprio were incredible!

***DON'T READ IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THIS MOVIE***

I just saw it. I know you are suppose to suspend disbeleif when watching movies. But I still like them to follow some sort of make beleive logic.

- Why is Jack Nicholous Mob boss character, at 70, making runs with his crew to load a truck with cocaine. Shouldn't he sit back and have his men do it? Shouldn't he be living off his wealth and out of the game by then. He's near death. Why take the risk?

- Why did Leo's character bust the mug over the mob guy at the bar. He was an under cover cop at the time. My theory is he was baiting him to get involved in Jack's gang. Is that what you guys thought? Otherwise it made no sense.

- How did Matt Damon character not know that Leo was the rat? They were at the same interview when they applied to be detectives. Damon saw him on camera when they were trying to figure out Jack's crew. Shouldn't he have known it was him?

- Why did Leo feel he had to make a citizen's arrest on Matt Damon on top of the building. He had the tapes on him. All he had to do was find a lawyer and indite Damon that way. He didn't need to take that risk.

It was a fun ride but it wasn't directed well. Great acting but certainly not a classic. Too many flaws. Some logic should be followed in Mob movies.

Yea, I was disappointed with the movie because I had heard so many "great" things. This is not a great film. It's good, but certainly no great. Ithought the acting was pretty good. I thought the last 15 minutes were completely stupid and the very end was even more dumb in my opinion. I understand that Nicholson's character had nothing better to do than be a part of those exchanges because "that's who he was" and he lived for it. However, if Nicholson's character was so smart he would have killed Leo's character long ago because suddenly there was a rat after this new kid had been with him for only six months who just so happened was an ex-cop. C'mon! This movie isn't even Scorcese's top 3 best films. Will be odd if this is the one that gets him his oscar.

Jesus Coach. When you see a thread that says "The Departed" don't read it if you haven't seen it. I avoided this thread until I saw it. Plus when I started to explain shit you could have pulled your head away from the screen. LOL. Maybe you were joking.

Proper movie thread etiquette goes as such:

"I just saw this movie, and thought it was blah, blah...

SPOILER ALERT!!!

When the guy blah did this, and etc."

It's important to give room. Make people scroll down. Then it's their choice to ruin the movie for themselves.

Are you trying to suggest that movies like Goodfellas or Casino aren't replete with logical flaws? If so...

I'm in the good but not great category.

Why did Costello take a shining to the young Sullivan. Was it wrapped up in the end that Jack was really his father or was there some killing of his real father that I missed.

Was the nun Costello fooled around with the corner store owner's daughter from the opening scene?

I don't know if Donny Wahlberg made his character great or if it was written great but I loved the role.

What was in the envolpe Carstigan gave to the shrink? They made a big deal out of it and then never revealed it's contents.

Is Costello an Irish name?

No midget. But this specific movie had flaws in the police work. Good Fellas and Casino were more focused on the action of the mobsters so I give that more of a poetic licence. It's just personal preference. Plus in my mind Good Fellas and Casino didn't have any major flaws that jumped out at me. I'm sure there were some but it didn't hit me like "The Departed" did. Personal preference I suppose.

-The envelope he gave to the shrink was obviously the story of Matt Damon and his involvement. He gave it to her in case he died. I still don't get why he just didn't get a lawyer since he had the goods on Damon with a tape of his involvement.

Goodfellas and Casino were biographical as told to the writer by the lead character. You expect lies, embellishments and pieces of information left out when a man is telling a story from his perspective.

I thought the same thing. If that is true why did he need to send her the CD after going on the lam?

Because he wanted to bang her. He thought that was the best way to do it. LOL. He had to get her pissed at Damon so he'd be hers.

Yeah, it seems like they made this thing up as they were filming it. Some of these flaws could have been avoided by this "great director".

Don't you love how hollywood uses women. She really was of no importance to the movie. Other then putting in the sex scene and having something for the characters in the movie to bang. That's the case in so many movies. The women is never needed other then eye candy for the audience in alot of these movies. Plus, this one wasn't even that hot. They could have chose a better one.

Another flaw.

Damon is in the sting operation with cameras on Jack's next hit. They are all worried about who the mole is. Damon wips out his cell phone to call Daddy and tell him he won't be there for dinner. The cop didn't think twice that this might be code and a tip off. LOL.
