Just watched the first 2 episodes. I think it's pretty good and powerful in some scenes but the coincidences that seem to occur in the neutral zone and that coffee shop are a little hard to take. I will watch it now because it still is a lot more interesting than 80% of what's on TV right now.

Started watching this weekend. I got through three episodes then my wife watched a couple of others without me which most likely throws off the chance that I ever watch it again.

I liked it. It had a Twin Peaks feel to it.

However, most of what I have seen didn't really need the rewrite of history in order to create this story. The author blows my mind up with Germany and Japan occupying the US (preposterous but I'll suspend disbelief) and then just puts it in the backround.

That said, the best character in the show is Obergrupenfurer.

They seemed to miscast the most important character in Julia. She is naïve and inexperienced like a much younger woman yet she is played by someone in her mid 30s.

I finished watching this and boy was I spot on with the David Lynch analogy. They spend nine episodes telling you a story and use the last one pointing to a sub rosa storyline that was their principal story from the beginning. I would really like to discuss this if any of you ss it because this is now one of those shows with which I could become obsessed

SPOILERS

The movie moves from a broken history to a science fiction in the final episode. I couldn't even tell you what really happened in the end. The first nine episodes might be nothing more than the fanciful thoughts of a Japanese American. They may also be the experiences of a person who can travel into different historical timelines like a quantum plain traveler. Maybe he is a person who scrub history like a blackboard when it doesn't play out as he wishes. It's also possible that 99% of the show should be taken at face value and the final scene is simply his dream as he is dying after consuming poison as part of a ritual suicide.

I think you could largely accept any of these explanations...and many others

Is The Man In The High Castle, God?

Who else could create film's that change depending on the viewer and can detail alternative endings to historical events or reveal future events?

I have one episode left to watch in this series, and the first half of this season was really tough to get through. It finally picked up a bit in episode 6 or 7 and has been solid since then. I nearly just gave it up, but I decided to go down with the ship, and I'm happy I stuck with it. The cliffhanger at the end of episode 9 was definitely a WTF moment, so I'm looking forward to see how they wrap this up.

I finally started this...enjoyed the pilot so far, hoping to watch a couple of more episodes in the next few days. Will probably download some episodes to watch on my flight to Reno next week.

I just finished season one of this show. It was tough at times to get through the entire season.

Should I bother with season two?

Season 2 I thought was a thousand times better than season 1.

I was thinking it wise to just re-watch Red Dawn and save myself a lot of time. Besides, I always like that scene where they piss in the radiator. "Wolverines!"

I'll press on then.

I do have to say that they've done a masterful job of making Obergrupenfurer Smith a sympathetic character...

as I said last year, he is the best character in the show. I think the guy is just a charismatic or skilled actor because he also steals the scenes in The Crown, another Nextflix series I am watching.

I haven't watched season 2 yet. I saw my wife watching it and the woman is far more attractive this season than I remember her last year. Money changes everything.

Really. I was not too interested even though this stuff is right down my alley interest-wise. Season 1 was a hot mess, IMO.

I guess I'll give S2 a shot.

There's still some episodes that really go nowhere, but yeah I really liked season 2 overall.

I'm through season 2, episode 7 and it has been meddling at best.

I'm going to finish it, but it's almost begrudgingly at this point.

I just keep thinking about the wasted potential that this story has...

Just finished season 2.

In what I can only describe as an extremely slow build, it finished very strongly! The last few episodes really picked it up.

I did see where Spotnitz left the show midway through the filming of season 2. Maybe that bodes well since that's where the story seemed to have picked up for me.

Yeah he left after episode 4 I think.

I liked the stuff with Tagomi in our world and how it played into the story in universe.

i'm 4 episodes in. the old asian guy's parts in the movies are giving me the vibe of a alternate universe type sci fi show.

its reminding me of the more hokey show Fringe that i really enjoyed too. but more serious.

4 episodes in and its basically character building which is pretty dry and not at all that exciting. but am hopeful.

I really enjoyed it, looking forward to season 3. There were parts that dragged but it worked for me.

I loved the show. It did drag at times, but it finished up both seasons strongly. My biggest criticism is that the two biggest characters, Juliana and Joe Blake, are both portrayed by pretty weak actors, especially Luke Kleintank as Joe. The best characters and actors in the show are John Smith, Inspector Kido, and Tagomi.

I hated Frank through much of the first season, but he did really come around in season 2.

I barely finished season 1 awhile back. Thought it sucked. Heard season 2 was a lot better but just too many good shows to go back to this for me.

Was home sick the past couple of days and got through season 1 and half of season 2 thus far. Really like the concept and the
sets and everything are very realistic looking and such. I can't put my finger on it but many parts of it seem uneven. I'll wait
to comment more until I finish, I also didn't read most of this thread to avoid spoilers.

Update - I finished up season 2. Really like this show quite a bit.

I'm still trying to get through season 2. I read that they fired the showrunner midway through and yeah I can tell they did as the season just sucks. I like the concept, but the execution is just poor.
