Anyone else watch this tonight? I was entertained. Had kind of a playmakers feel to it. Which means the NFL will likely have it cancelled after a year. Especially with them using NFL logos without permission.

Wore than I expected and I didnt expect much. Cant take THE ROCK, the guy who saves the day, the world, the universe in multiple movies and have him with an INSUFFICIENT FUNDS on his ATM cash card.

of course will continue to watch for the ass and sex, plus it will be between True D and Brink, so they got that going for them.

There are other avenues for that.

This was just alright. I am not sure the series has much staying power and I would agree with BF that The Rock is an odd choice for the role but
he comes off as pretty likeable in this case. I'll keep watching of course but there just isn't much to this one.

Just saw it.

No depth to any of the characters. This could have been written well. But they're just gonna sell sex for this show.

By the way, I can't believe this show did this without consent from the NFL for using team names and their logos. NFL is gonna sue them and they're gonna win. HBO is gonna pay.

HBO has really smart lawyers. As long as they use NFL trademarks in appropriate NFL based situations they are ok. Now if they had the player who was banging the girl in the bathroom wearing a packers hat, then the NFL could sue. Even though some would argue that would be trademark appropriate.

I don't think so. I saw Packers, Bills and Dolphins logos. Saw Bills and Dolphins uniforms in a game. They're not paying the NFL for using it. It's that simple. This show is profiting off the NFL without paying the NFL. So the NFL has a case.

Ok. That's one lawyers interpretation. Maybe he's right. I still think the NFL will try to sue.

How come other NFL movies and shows don't use NFL gear? Has to be a reason.

Anygiven Sunday and Playmakers had them doing bad shit while wearing team gear. NFL would of sued already.

Who interprets what's bad? Let's say they had a player banging his wife while wearing a Dolphins hat. Is that bad? It's his wife. Is missionary fine and anal bad? What would the court say and why?

For example, I'm just guessing here, but I'll bet there has been a non sports movie where somebody killed somebody while wearing a Sox hat. Do they get sued?

When you say they would have sued already, maybe their were no grounds for a lawsuit until the first episode aired. Cuz they had done nothing wrong until the first episode aired, obviously. You have to commit the crime before you can be sued.

We'll see. I'll bet the lawsuit is coming shortly.

The show is borderline racist the way they portray all of the black players. Not one that just plays football and goes back to his wife and kids and is responsible? C'mon. You can add that guy into the show.

This show is awful, but I'm still watching.

The Rock has been surprisingly good thus far.

This mirrors my thoughts. Pretty much a mindless 23 minutes of TV. The white guy that works with The Rock is actually pretty funny at times.
They were obviously looking for Entourage in the sports world but they are missing the mark. The athletes they have cast just don't have much
charisma and I don't care anything about them or their stories yet.

After last weeks episode, the tide may possibly be turning a bit. I am not sure why, but I really enjoyed the episode, maybe because
more of the focus was to try to flesh out the players/former players that are in the main cast and not so focused on The Rock. There
was continued copious eye candy and I thought it was one of the better episodes. I'm still not sure this can survive for another season.

I like the show. It's just a quick 30 minute light watch.

Finally got around to the finale this morning. Overall I don't think this series was too bad. It was pretty light, had some funny moments
and kept the story moving along. I definitely see this one coming back and I have no problems with that. I have not seen a lot of movies
with the Rock in them, and while I don't think he is a great actor I do think he does well playing a former pro athlete turned agent. He's
believable at least.

I like the Rock. Agree he's just an average actor, and this role played to his strengths. It was worth the 30 minute weekly commitment.

The big offensive lineman (was also in The Express) who came out of retirement is pretty straight and responsible. Sure he had talked to a girl he met on the boat and saved a video she sent him for a while. He thought about tappin that ass, but overall, he's a responsible, level headed guy. Not a great show, but not horrible either and I am guessing a lot of what you see is depicted accurately. Rashard Mendenhall is one of the main writers for the series.

I'm guessing no one has been watching Season 2. I didn't even realize it has been on this summer. I thought it would be launching in September. I might catch
a couple over the course of the week and see what direction it goes in but based on this thread I wasn't liking it very much.

RPB and I still watch it. I think he put it best when he told me its "surprisingly watchable". It's not great, but it's entertaining enough to knock out 25 minutes a week on.

I've watched the first 2 or 3 episodes, but it's been on the Summer TV back-burner on my DVR. I'll probably get to it eventually, but the show overall is just "meh".

I'm a fan.

For me, this is easily the best "acting" The Rock has ever done. I scare quote it because this is probably pretty close to some of his own real life experiences. And Rob Corddry always gets the job done for me. Shout out to "Lougle."

Last night was the first of the season, correct? I saw tons of episodes on yesterday, so I assume they were doing a marathon of the old episodes. I wish they would label them better so I know which one is the new one.
