But it wasn't as bad as the US starting wars in muslim countries over oil.

Country recording artists aren't singers. They are 'performers.'

I bet you can sing, too.....doesn't mean you don't sound like a lisping genius when you do it.

When Michaels was asked as he was leaving SNL's after-party at 4am why the show avoided the Weinstein controversy, the producer smiled and responded: 'It's a New York thing.'

the OJ sketch was well done, credit to keenan thompson as since he physically looked nothing like OJ I had no idea at the start of the sketch it was an OJ sketch.

for some reason the pre-made short Papyrus last week also made me laugh...

fun SNL fact, angry black lady leslie jones is almost 50 years old!

She's the Teflon angry black lady. The SNL crew is so out of touch with the Black community when they were criticized for an all-white cast, they went and hired a classic black stereotype.

Safelite not happy with SNL:

http://time.com/4974558/snl-safelite-skit-response/

I was surprised the used Safelite in the skit instead of a generic name like "Speedy Glass Repair" or something like that.

SNL hasn't spoofed it as far as I know, but they've taken a couple shots at Kars for Kids in skits.

Did anyone see this past weekend's episode? The monologue was a little odd. Kumail Nanjiani, who starred in a movie earlier this year called The Big Sick about a Pakistani man who married a Caucasian woman, started off by saying the first person in his family to leave Pakistan went to Scotland and married a white woman. This did not please his family who said "Never again!", and had to "circle the wagons and tighten things up." The next person to leave was Kumail who came to America, married a white woman, and made a movie about it. When he called his mom to tell her she wasn't mad at him but said "Shame on us!"

All of that got laughs.

After his movie came out he said he read the reviews online and not everyone liked it. One guy said he watched the whole movie, but just doesn't like race mixing. That drew hushed and appalled "ooohhs" from the crowd. But when his family does the same thing, it's funny. :?

That seemed a little incongruous.

Then he started talking about Islamaphobia. Spoiler...it's bad.

The rest of the show was mediocre. The "Kellywise" skit (Kellyanne Conway as Pennywise) looked very slick, but they've essentially done this same skit a few times already.

I guess enough other people had criticized Harvey Weinstein last week that they felt safe enough to take shots at him this weekend.

I don't like Mikey Day. I'm wary of grown men who go by "Mikey", and his face reminds me of one of these people from The Twilight Zone:

Usually you have someone host the show right before the movie is about to drop, or right after it. Not 6 months after. I have no clue who the fuck he is, but the show sucked!

Leslie Jones must of lost weight, they keep throwing her in dresses. She still is untalented, and a drag on the cast.

ha, i want to still like the show, so i put it on demand... i generally fast forward through the monologue because they are never funny.... and It felt like his monologue would never end, it must have went over 10 minutes.

Ad Council was good... Fresh Takes also not bad. Last sketch was good for a last sketch.

Why is Mikey Day the feature in every skit? He is terrible.

He seems to be in more of them than the regular cast.

He is in every god damn skit and he sucks ass. Its quite annoying. The guy who plays Putin is GREAT and he has been VERY limited this year for whatever reason.

The cold open was terrible.

Larry David's monologue was not funny. The Quasimodo stuff was basically George Costanza talking about women 20+ years ago. If you're going to make Holocaust jokes they better at least be funny.

It's remarkable how often Leslie Jones fucks up the barely-a-sentence worth of dialogue she has in a skit.

Weekend Update feels like being lectured to by Bernstein and Goff.

If a guy was talking about women they Leslie Jones was talking about men (and pawed a woman they way she pawed Jose Altuve) in her weekend update skit, it would be deeply problematic.

Some of the Beck Bennett and Kyle Mooney intentionally odd skits are are good, but this one went on too long.

I FF'd through the Miley Cyrus songs.

I don’t get why every show starts with Baldwin doing Trump. It’s not funny anymore. I turned it off yesterday after literally every single Weekend Update story was about Trump, and then the “Trump sons” were brought on as guests.

Where is the originality? I like to laugh at Trump as much as the next guy, but there are other things to satirize out there.

So I guess nobody just gives a crap if Taylor Swift lip syncs on SNL.

Didn't it ruin some girl's career a couple years ago?
