Keenan's Lavar Ball was awesome. It was pretty much his Steve Harvey with the Ball storyline....but it was probably my highlight of the show.

OK. I'm still at Update and the show hasn't been very good.

Update has had a couple moments so far.

OK, definitely the best part so far.

Whether it holds up depends on what Taylor is wearing in the 2nd performance.

Why do they put Leslie Jones in so many sketches?

She can't do sketches.

She was wearing a guitar....and that is hot compared to her hip hop stuff.

Ashlee Simpson.

I just watched the monologue. I think the show is being hosted by Finesse Mitchell's Starkisha character.

Apparently Tiffany Haddish is the 1st black female comedian to host SNL in the show’s entire 40 yr run. Seems hard to believe.

That is hard to believe, but now that I think about it I can't think of any female stand-up comedians who are black. I thought Whoopi Goldberg might have hosted but she never did.

Weekend Update can still be funny when 80% of it isn't about Trump.

Heidi Gardner's impersonation of Kristen Schaal was very accurate. I have never met Kristen Schaal, but she looks like she smells like mayonnaise.

Was the Tamika skit supposed to be a parody of how bad Leslie Jones is? It's hard to get humor from a character who gets confused and misreads the teleprompter when played by a performer who often gets confused and misreads the teleprompter.

I thought it was Kristen Schaal for a while. That was so close it was weird.

I hadn't considered that about the Tamika skit. That would actually be clever but if they were going for it, they missed.

That would have been funny actually but Leslie should have been the guest bitching at the host about how bad she is. That would write itself.

But then Leslie would probably screw up the bitching guest lines.

tay tay lip synced on the first song. hot fucking garbage.

but the acoustic set she did for the 2nd round was actually pretty good. she sang it, played it... and although nothing special she pulled it off just fine.

Chance seems like at any moment he is about to completely lose his composure and roll over laughing. The guest open made Larry David's look like gold. Family Feud was a little funny. In the news, I loved the "don't know how to write cursive" exchange, and then Pete Davidson absolutely killed -- best part of the show. Crack rap was a little funny. Career day was good.

Pete Davidson was fucking great. The rest of the show was awful. Good to see Pete funny again. Its been a while.

Most of this cast reminds me of some shitty improv group that came to my D3 college and were terrible. Hire some funny people already and don't limit their creativity.

Davidson on Update was great. The rest of the show was pretty mediocre.

Can they retire the failed comedian bit? I like that guy but that bit doesn't even work in the so bad it's good way.

I read that his character with that killed in whatever Improv group or clubs he used to do it in but I've never seen it work on SNL.

There have to be at least 500+ up and coming comics that are funnier than most of this cast. Davidson was great but it was just because he was being a smart ass without a script or with a loose one. Mooney is horrendous. How the fuck do you put that on tv? He is god awful, he is ugly as shit and the only reason I don't rail on him every week is because somehow Norm liked him enough to put him on his show years ago.

I'm watching the 9pm rerun of a Matthew McConaughey from November 2015 and, 20 minutes in, two things stick out -

1. Almost none of the main players in these sketches are still on the show from 2 years ago.

2. Everything is funnier and it's not even a solid episode at this point

They have also, in one year, taken a pretty funny Beck Bennett....and made him into the god awful character's that seth meyers played years ago.

I have for years said I can't stand Keenan. Keenan (and the 5 seconds they let Davidson on) are the only things i find funny anymore. I actually look forward to keenan.

some lows as usual, but overall a good show last night. i laughed a lot, i now know who chance the rapper is and i think hes cool, and i was even impressed by eminems performance. yea, i get it, hes a hard core wannabe... but still, he pulled it off and that chick he had signing was amazing.

Did not watch last night's episode, because, well, I don't really care about it much these days.

The reason Mooney is on the show is I am sure Lorne is trying to appeal to the millennial YouTube generation - Mooney had some of his weird-ass videos he produced that got millions of hits, and got the attention of SNL. Meh; crap.

Beck Bennett, like a bunch of recent cast members, has been horribly misused. I thought he would have made a great change-of-pace Weekend Update anchor after Cecily Strong got fucked over - have him do a more deadpan delivery, as opposed to the self-aware-giggle-at-myself-smarm Jost and Che (and Seth Meyers previously).

Other than what it appears to be on the surface, I am still confounded by the whole Leslie Jones thing.

Aidy Bryant can be really funny at times, but is always pigeonholed in the "fat, uneasy/timid" roles. Keenan basically does one thing, but like UMN said above, he has actually grown on me over the years. Cecily Strong and Kate McKinnon should be jumping ship soon - their futures are brighter than this shitshow.

Have not seen enough of the newest cast members to have an opinion, except that (from reliable sources I hear) Mikey Day is pretty much hated by everyone in the business.

I've said it for years - the cast is too bloated (should be no more than 7), and Lorne is too old and set in his ways. The show needs a serious overhaul - a "tanking", if you will - flush Lorne, the writers, and the entire cast, and start over. It's been done before, to some initial pains, but good results after a season or two.

Chance was bad, Eminem was boring. Almost nothing good on the whole show.

The Staten Island bit on update was sorta funny

Yeah, I like him fine. He's far from their problems.

His range is limited but he can serve a role in some sketches that add.

Agreed!

The cast seems to lack star power, and it seems like when some of these guys wanna leave, a season before they get pushed to mop up duty. Vanessa Bayer, Bobby Moynihan, Taran Killam to name a few.

“Saturday Night Live” apparently had second thoughts about its sketch sending up a Safelite AutoGlass repairman.

The NBC show has pulled the parody commercial mocking the windshield company from YouTube and reruns, Vulture reported on Monday.

The sketch featuring Beck Bennett as Safelite AutoGlass windshield repairman, Ken, was notably missing from Saturday’s rerun of the Oct. 7 episode, the website noted.

It is also no longer available on YouTube or Hulu, where previously aired “SNL” videos are usually available.

While NBC did not announce the change in programming, the Safelite company shared its disapproval of the sketch via Twitter when it originally aired.

“Thanks for the skit. Although we can take a joke, this one was a step too far. Our techs are our heroes,” Safelite tweeted after the episode aired.

“We weren’t involved in creating it and we’re really disappointed in @NBCSNL for airing it.”

In the offending skit, Bennett played a technician who took way too much interest in Aidy Bryant’s teenage daughter (Melissa Villaseñor) while fixing the windshield on her family’s car.

A representative for NBC declined TheWrap’s request for comment.

Bobby Moynihan's show Me, Myself, and I has been cancelled earlier this month by the way. It was not doing well rating wise at all, and I watched a few episodes... it wasn't very funny and tried to do too much in 22 minutes.
