I am a fan of the caller announcing Athletic Accomplishments.

Not sure of the origin of the concept, but it is one of my favorite things in Sports Radio when a guy calls up and wants to talk Bears and qualifies himself with "I know what I am talking about, I am a pop warner coach in Orland for 7 years, so I know how the game is played."

Sure it will run it's course, but it's the originality of the callers that is quality.

Silvy started it because one caller ripped his baseball knowledge because Silvy didn't play as long as he did. Silvy asked him what made him so qualified to talk about baseball, and the caller said he played AA ball.

Silvy did not start this...this began back on the Monday night Bears show with Hub Arkush after he told a listener that he knew more about football and questioned his "football knowledge". Every caller to the show thereafter provided their qualifications to Hub (to Hub's aggravation).

From now on we should all list our qualifications for whatever subject we are posting on, until it runs it's course.

Hub might have done this but Silvy perfected it and brought it to his show. Dont be a hater on Silvy. This is one of the only things he has in life.
