Sean and Rosey are done. They will both be off the air after football season. I have no inside information, but if 1000 wants to compete with the Score, they have to change their 9-12 show. This is simply my opinion, but here are some people in the running.

Getting strong consideration---Silvy, JD, Mark Giangreco, David Haugh

I feel any combination of those 4 would be an enormous upgrade. Silvy and JD would be the "radio" drivers, while Giangreco and Haugh could be the reaction guys. All 4 are professional, all 4 have credibility and all 4 would be a good listen. Giangreco makes a ton of money at channel 7 so I don't know if that's possible, but he brings legit "star power", unlike Salsbury. Haugh will be the #1 columnist at Trib in the near future. It's no secret I'm a huge fan of Silvy and JD, they are the brightest young talent in town. Silvy is like 34 and I think JD is 27.

In the team photo--Carmen, Mike Mulligan (what's his contract status?)

No shot in HELL--Chet, Hood or any other radio rejects

Chet is done. End of story. If 1000 thought Hood was so damm good, they'd find a spot for him. The only spot he has is on his couch. Please spare me the Les/ T Dub nonsense. They will never work in this town again.

A lot of people seem fond of Matt Abatacola (sp?) and Jason Goff. I hope both continue to grow, but this is a major daypart in the #3 market. They do not have the experience or the talent yet. Hopefully in the future they will. This city needs new, homegrown hosts. Not washed up losers like Mike North, Murph, Fred, Rosenbloom, Coppock or Tom Shaer (yikes!).

Feel free to rip me. Again, this is only my opinion.

I won't rip you. You have put more thought into your fantasy lineup than Mitch or Spaceball ever did at their real stations.

I hate to say it, but Hood certainly doesn't seem poised to be getting significant air time at AM1000 anytime soon.

Mark Giangreco would be cool, but he has stated in the past he does not want to do radio. He feels it would take too much time to prepare and I guess he doesn't want to commit to that (I respect him for that... because it is obvious some hosts in this town don't want to commit to preparing for their shows and THEY ARE on the air... and it shows they don't prepare).

David Haugh I always liked better than Brian Hanley (with Mulligan). I wonder if Haugh would be interested in doing a full-time mid-day radio show.

I disagree with your original thought, not only will Salisbury be on the air, he will be on the air in several markets in the not to distant future.

Here is what I think. I have no proof to back it up. ESPN was looking to create a national radio show around Sean and needed a local outlet for him to get seasoning. For some reason they chose Chicago as that outlet and sought out Spaceball to make the move. Spaceball is as accomodating a person as you can get so he signed Sean. At some point in the near future, I expect national to roll out this show nationally.

That would be so cool. If only it could retain the "hometown Chicago" feel when it goes national, this would be a great way to represent what Chicago sports is all about!!

Or you could just pour me a tall glass of Drano please.

Maybe as the new side-kick for Dan Patrick. He needs one so he won't blab on and on one one topic for two hours.
