ESPN's station here is a daily advertisement. They dont need to make money. It just keeps the brand name in front of the people.

Its why they insist on some national radio.

ESPN’s growing reputation for censoring its employees and issuing heavy-handed suspensions makes me not want to tune into the radio station. Sometimes I get the sense that the hosts are being guarded with their comments or are afraid of saying anything that could be considered controversial.

So you're saying you have never heard Jurko on the station?

You've got to be kidding. He can be a bit edgy but I don't really think of Jurko as being controversial.

Ben Finfer, who used to work at the station, candidly described on his show last year what it was like to work for ESPN.

I know they have restrictions. You can tell with Carmen. That guy is scared to death to touch anything that's controversial. I mean Jurko might do some sexual innuendo and he quickly tries to change the subject.

But what did Finfer say about ESPN 1000?

You were one of the seven people listening to the game, congrats. Jurko is always saying something that makes Carmen uncomfortable.
