Silvy and Waddle were taking suggestions for how to punish the last place finisher in their FF league. The two finalists were suggestions from listeners:

1) The last place finisher has to take the ACT, score at least a 20, and retake it until he gets a 20.

2) The last place finisher has to recreate three of the poses from the ESPN The Magazine's Body Issue.

Everyone had their opinions about each one, but Silvy was VERY adamant about not wanting to take the ACT. He was so over-the-top against it, saying how stupid it was, etc., that I started to wonder if he's afraid he won't be able to get a 20 and will be embarrassed.

I think the other guys thought the ACT was the best one. I agree, and think recreating poses from the body issue is pretty lame. It sounds like something they'd do on Mike and Mike -- probably because they basically already did when Golic recreated the Kim Kardashian magazine cover.

I think I would score higher now than I did at 16ish.

Thought they got rid of those culturally biased tests?

I like

A: Pay an extra $100

B: Responsible for setting up next years draft.

recreating the ESPN "The Body" poses is pretty funny.

"B" sounds right ... it's an appropriately related non-cunty "penalty".

A chimp could score a 20 on the ACT. That's not very difficult.

Didn't they change the scoring range on the ACT in the early 90s?

Never took SAT
Not sure anybody I went to HS with took it either?

Pretty sure I got a 24 on the ACT, took it again and said F-it about halfway through. 24 will get me anywhere I plan on going

Also - the valedictorian of our HS class took the ACT multiple times, pretty sure she never got in the 20's

She ended up at UW-Madison

It changed in 1990, but just names of two sections.

Sounds like she was just the homework queen. When I was in school they told us the state average was 20. I don't see how a good student could try and still fall below that multiple times.

I got a 26 on the ACT. I'll never forget my old man's reaction.
ME: I got a 26 on my ACT!
LES SR: What's the highest you can get?
ME: 36.
LES SR: Why didn't you get a 36 then?
ME: :|

I got a 29 and was shocked. A lot of the brains scored less. I still ended up at a shitty college as my GPA was low (3 sports and a social life does not leave time for studying/homework).

My good friend in school ended up with a 15. I felt really bad for him. However, he was really stupid and told everyone about the score. If i got a shitty score, the last thing I'm doing is sharing it with the student body. I'd lie and say I got a 19 and retake the test.

One of my good buddies got around a 15-16. He's a cop now.

I got a 33, but it didn't do me much good. After five years I dropped out of college and became an over-the-road truck driver (BTW, Seacrest, that job sucks: you work 100 hours a week, log 70, and get paid for 40. No wonder the jobs are available). I finally graduated 17 years later.

I ripped off a 33 as well, back in 81... have used it over my kids successfully up to now, but the girl just may get me this year. My boys both did mid-twenties, they say retaking averages about a one point improvement on average- one of the valedictorians retook like four or five tests to break 30. One of my oldest son's classmates and later college roommate scored 32 the first time, now has dropped out to work at Disneyworld. It was worth a couple thousand a year more scholarship to him over my son

Over the road truck drivers get paid by the mile or load.

Are you sure that you got a 33 on the ACT?

Over the road drivers get paid mileage usually and sometimes some sort of downtime guarantee I believe. Local drivers get paid hourly.

i remember seeing smoke rise off of the floor when i took my ACT... i got a 31.

i also remember that our class' resident tryhard (indian chick named mithra... the biggest brownnoser [non-racial] of them all (which is a feat considering that prior to accepting DP kids in high school erin ortman was the standard of that and she was still around)

i remember my friend jeremy got a rather easy 34 and mithra, who had studied her ass off was visibly upset that she got either a 33 or a 34. literally about 3-4 of the brownnoser brigade had to surround her and console her cuz she literally exclaimed WHAT THE FUCK?!?!?! when she found out jeremy got a 34 (and was nagging him for minutes trying to remain smooth and calm and collected but clearly wanted the results of her competitor) she was like sorry jeremy but WHAT THE FUCK THAT'S NOT FAIR I STUDIED SO HARD FOR THIS AND YOU NEVER REALLY STUDIED AT ALL I NEVER SAW YOU STUDY ONE LICK AND I SPENT AT LEAST 30 HOURS STUDYING JUST FOR THIS AND I SHOULD HAVE FINISHED THE HIGHEST SO WHAT THE FUCK?!?!?!

we kind of laughed and later said (after mithra left) "yeah mithra, that's because jeremy is smarter than you and isnt all caught up trying to prove himself" --- but she made it a point to either double or triple her efforts and take it again and got a 35 and then literally shoved it in everyone's faces so we all knew that MITHRA HAD THE HIGHEST ACT SCORE IN THE SCHOOL, YOU KNOW, THE WAY GOD INTENDED IT. she was walking around with a veritable ladyboner all day with a big doofy grin on her face brandishing those results with the 35 and when ppl asked her about it she lit up like a christmas tree and told them about how hard she worked for her 35 cuz it was seriously the most important thing in her life (up to that point) to have the highest ACT score in the school.

jeremy would go on to get a doctorate and become a professor of economics @ the university of kentucky. mithra? prolly some sort of doctor/lawyer/6-figure-smart-kid but alls i remember is getting really drunk one night and sending her some sort of "i transcend you" style shit-talking on facebook.... c'est a vie.

TLDR = THE ACT IS OVERRATED AND ONLY MATTERS TO BROWNNOSERS!

When did garbagemen become over the road truck drivers?

What do garbagemen have to do with anything? I am speaking about the huge number of available truck driver jobs. They are available for a reason. Most local outfits want drivers with experience; the traditional path is to start out OTR and then go local. Obviously that doesn't apply to all situations, but unless you have connections, it is tough to get a local job with a freshly-minted CDL.

The last place finisher (points) has to pay for the buffalo wild wings and beer for the group the following year at the draft there.

That's lame. I don't think the last-place finisher should have had to get a tattoo, mimic ESPN The Body issue poses or anything like that, but picking up a tab is very pedestrian for a radio show bit.
