With Terry Francona leaving ESPN's "Sunday Night Baseball" to become the new manager of the Cleveland Indians for the 2013 season, the "Worldwide Leader" has found their replacement in house for "Sunday Night Baseball" next spring & summer.

ESPN has announced that John Kruk, a fixture on the network's studio show "Baseball Tonight" since 2004, will be joining Dan Shulman, Orel Hershiser & dugout/field reporter Buster Olney on the network's exclusive national broadcast of "Sunday Night Baseball" next season. Kruk, who played 10 seasons with the Phillies, Padres & White Sox with a career BA of .300 & 100 home runs, is naturally excited about the new assignment.

"It's a real honor to work with Dan and Orel, and to be front and center on baseball's biggest game of the week," Kruk said. "When I was asked to join the team, I couldn't have been happier."

Kruk is no stranger to analyzing games for the network. In addition to his studio duties on "Baseball Tonight" in Bristol, CT, Kruk has worked as a fill-in analyst on ESPN's MLB broadcasts, including "Sunday Night Baseball", as well as the network's coverage of the "State Farm Home Run Derby" during All-Star time, the Little League World Series & the Rawlings Gold Glove Awards Show. His boss, ESPN Vice President of Production Mike McQuade calls Kruk "intelligent, opinionated, and brings a ton of personality."

Shulman & Hershiser also had high praise for Kruk's knowledge, humor & passion for the game. They can't wait to get started with "Krukie", as he's affectionately known.

I'm not sure what you meant by that, but E.A. still does MLB as part of her new deal with FOX Sports.

So is ESPN Radio's Mike Golic. The reason why it's called "Baseball's Biggest Stage" is how ESPN bills "Sunday Night Baseball".
