Interesting segment about the rigors of the broadcast clock, especially in public radio, which because of its modular nature and the automation of most member stations, requires exact devotion to the clock. I've always found that ironic, given the way public radio is still stereotyped some 40 years on as a den of earth mothers and assorted cranks rather than a highly sophisticated news operation. Anyway, worth a listen if you're into the inside-baseball stuff.

I know of this broadcast clock you speak of quite well. I, your humble professor emeritus, was often accustomed to running well past the set time for a break to listen to the evening's news or our breaks to serve Capitalism.
