Fans, no sooner does John Lynch announce his retirement from the NFL, he has landed new work, at least for now. The former hard-hitting cornerback has been hired by FOX Sports and will be working Sunday. Unfortunately, he won't be calling the Bears/Rams' game. According to awfulannouncing.com, John will be working Sunday's regional game between the Minnesota Vikings & Jacksonville Jaguars. Chris Rose from FSN's "Best Damn Sports Show Period" will call the play-by-play and Krista Voda from FOX's Speed Channel & the network's NASCAR coverage works the sidelines. It's unclear if John's hiring by FOX will lead to steadier assignments next year.

I am so relieved to know this. I have been tossing and turning at night wondering what he will do now that he isnt playing in the NFL.

I was a little surprised that John got a new gig so soon after he retired...For all I know, this is an audition for 2009. The way the Bears are playing, we might get a John Lynch game near the end of the season...

Touche, Man of Few Opinions...I think you are correct about John's position when he played for the Buccaneers & Broncos.

Spmack, that's who we're getting Sunday in St. Louis. Dick Stockton, Brian Baldinger & Laura Okmin have been assigned Bears/Rams Sunday on FOX Sports. This is only the second time this season we've seen "Baldy" & Laura work a Bears' game this season. Matt Vasgersian & Brian Billick were also on hand to call the Bears' 34-7 blowout win in Detroit earlier this season while Dick was calling a certain North side baseball team flopping AGAIN in the N.L. Division Series on TBS Sports. Besides, Laura puts Jillian Barberie-Reynolds to shame in regards to eye candy!

I was hoping John Lynch would be appearing in the upcoming "Star Trek" movie. He looks Vulcanish.
