According to this report

https://heavy.com/sports/nfl/chicago-be ... 7RdICCtGOT

Quote:
“There were several arguments amongst the QBs. Once, per one source, Foles was trying to teach something to Fields in the QB room and — upon turning toward the rookie — Foles realized Fields wasn’t even paying attention. His head was down. At that point, Foles was done trying to play mentor. The two could not stand each other.”

Quote:
“One source plugged into the Bears locker room says the widely held narrative that Fields was a strong leader is inflated, citing the quarterback as ‘a surface level dude’ who didn’t develop authentic relationships with teammates. He called reports that teammates love Fields ‘[expletive]’ adding that the quarterback carried himself with an undeserved aura and lacks emotional intelligence for someone who’s been a quarterback so long,” Dunne wrote

Dr. Style about to treat these reports like Israel is the one saying it.

The anonymously sourced hit pieces should’ve started months ago once it was clear they’d be picking 1.

Water seeks its own level.

"A surface level dude who didn’t develop authentic relationships. Carried himself with an undeserved aura and lacks emotional intelligence."

This explains why ltg was such a Fields fan.

I heard from someone very close to the source that Kmet didn't really enjoy playing with Fields.

There were quiet whispers in the coaches room.

He didn’t want to have rotator cuff surgery from waving his arms that he was open so much.

If these reports are true, no way he will finish the season in PITT. Tomlin won't put up with his attitude.

this is the best explanation of him i have seen. 'carries himself with an undeserved aura' is spot on. he wasn't friends with anyone on the team, and thats OK if youre better than them, but he wasn't.

by the way, this report is a huge condemnation of the local beat guys because it is the opposite of their reporting

None of Bernstein's inside sources told him about this

If it’s true Poles took a huge gamble dumping the #1 pick last year. Is he really lucky or good? If you know your QB is a piece of shit you kind of need to draft a new one when you have the top overall pick. How do you justify that move if they didn’t luck into the #1 pick again.

Some really great athletes, including QBs, are pieces of shit. Poles felt he owed Fields one more year. If Fields ending up being great, they would've drafted MHJ and a tackle. But Fields is not only bad but also a piece of shit.

Dunne's not some slouch either. He's a legitimate journalist.

Then he should have laughed in these idiot’s faces

Quote:
“It is f--king hard to play in this city at that position because as soon as you play two or three bad games, you’re the worst mother--ker on the planet and it comes down heavy,” this former Bears exec says. “I don’t think it’s a coincidence that the New York Jets and the Chicago Bears are the two teams that have a hardest time finding quarterbacks because you better have the guy who’s wired right. And talented.”

Fields was trash and he got full cult treatment. No organization is forced to glorify mediocre QBs like the Bears. Jim McMahon, Jim Harbaugh, Jim Miller, Rex Grossman, Kyle Orton…show a pulse and this city will give you a pass. Like dolphin said, the time for these articles was months ago, it just sounds like sour grapes from shitty coaches and execs now.

Is Chicago even a particularly tough media market for the QB? Who was the last guy who was unfairly trashed? I’m thinking maybe Cutty around the NFC Championship, but the wagons circled pretty quickly on that one.

Otherwise it’s a steady stream of mediocrity that’s more-or-less treated well. Fucking Jim Miller is still waddling around out there as a Bears expert; put on the jersey, don’t be openly a dick and you’ll eat for free for the rest of your life.

Is not getting along with Nick Foles really such a bad thing? The guy seemed like an unhinged douche during his time in Chicago.

And Fields is guilty of "carrying himself with an undeserved aura?" If Fields didn't have any swagger, wouldn't he be criticized for that, too? Caleb Williams' self-confidence has been cited as one of his strengths thus far, yet he hasn't earned anything in the NFL either...

A lot of dust being kicked on my guy Fields grave around here. It must mean that they "fear him"!

Yet the assessment of him is based on his interactions with teammates while he played for the LOCAL FRANCHISE

I thought this thread was about Fields, not Larry Holmes.

I hope he succeeds and I still believe he was a lot better than much higher paid alternatives that were on the FA market. I'm just relaying from a person very close to the source.

You are correct. How could they report when so many were holding Fields up to call the fan base racists and dumb asses?

Nick Foles had a Grade A penis.

We need details other than Kmet didn't "enjoy" playing with Fields. Does Kmet dislike Fields personally (this doesn't seem to be the case)? Or was he simply frustrated by playing with a QB who struggled to read coverages and throw the ball accurately (which seems obvious)?
