This one is was tough.. but it’s also truly a meaningless game. Bears remain in top tier draft position, and if that holds up the rest of the year it can result in reverse fortunes for the franchise.. of course they still have to make the correct picks..

Fields is their QB next season. And I can tell you the Bears won't select a QB with their 1st Round pick. They're going to take a lineman that is going to be special who won't set the franchise back resulting in firings.

The Bears were giving up less than a touchdown in the 2nd half until fairly recently.

This Bears defense played with 1.5 starters. They gave the Bears a chance to win.

They were up 9 going into the 4th. A good or even average defense would have found a way to protect the lead. They didn't and seemingly never do. How many times have the Bears D stopped someone in the 4th this season? Seemingly not one time.

I'm talking about for the season. For most of the season this defense was giving up less than a touchdown for the second half. That clearly means they were stopping someone.

If I'm blaming any unit for this loss the defense would be last.

They are in most games. They've been blown out three times I think, and even in one of those (Dallas) the game was more competitive than the score indicated. Before the Sieman game their point differential was better than GB, LA, and one or two other teams led by high profile coaches. That's all you can ask for when the roster is garbage - to keep the games competitive. I think questions about closing games out can be asked when the roster has higher expectations.

The Bears defense has given up more than 3 points in the 4th quarter twice outside of today. One of those times came when the Bears offense turned the ball over and Washington needed less than 5 yards to score a touchdown. They've given up 3 points twice. The rest are 0's.

I guess the sense the feeling is reciprocal mutual--Packer fans ready for eh-eh-ron to move on.

why is Fields passing so much? 10 to 12 passes a game, max. Keep the defense somewhat honest. Otherwise run, run run and run again and again.

Overall, I thought he was better passing today. He was still late and inaccurate at times, but he made a few elite throws. I also thought the offensive line gave him time to pass.

He missed Claypool college open in the end zone earlier in the game. Working to become a better passer should be all he does this offseason.
