When it comes to other players or positions things are less clear. We dont really know what they want to do at CB, OT, LB...so I wont know if they strike out there like I will with these other dudes.

There’s absolutely zero reason a fan base should ever be fretting over not signing Albert Wilson. He’s nobody

Gotta agree with FF here.

No one should care about Wilson. If they get him then fine.

But they have to sign Robinson or Watkins. If they fail to land one of those then the fans have every right to be go after Pace.

My guy tells me that the Bears will be all over Robinson and will not lose out on money.

And FF and RFDC are right about Albert Wilson. Just a guy, like Kendall Wright is.

And they'll be getting Kevin White back, so that's almost like two first-round picks this year. Oh, wait...

Sounds like Watkins is the Bears top target and it's going to take at least $15M a year to get a deal done. I'm okay with this.

Bears have like 40 players on their roster. They need to fill this thing out. Of course they need to acquire Watkins and/or Robinson but the work isn't done there. Pace has set himself up to build a significant part of the team up through free agency. If he can't get the mid range and lower level guys he wants it's still a failure. The Bears, despite obviously rebuilding, never acquired a pick in the first the rounds under Pace. It's all led up to this moment, this is his chance to go wild.

BOOM

http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/2274 ... cago-bears

Jacksonville Jaguars receiver Allen Robinson intends to sign with the Chicago Bears on a three-year, $42 million deal barring any last-minute snags when free agency opens Wednesday, he told ESPN's Josina Anderson late Monday night.

Robinson, whom the Jaguars drafted in the second round in 2014, has 202 catches for 2,848 yards and 22 touchdowns in 43 games. He is coming off a torn left ACL suffered on the third offensive play of the 2017 season opener at Houston.

Robinson, 24, had 48 catches for 548 yards and two touchdowns as a rookie before a knee injury ended his season after 10 games. He had a monster year in 2015, with 80 catches for 1,400 yards and a franchise-record 14 touchdown receptions, and he appeared to be on the cusp of joining the elite list of receivers in the NFL.

However, the Jaguars' offense struggled in 2016, and so did Robinson. He was targeted the same amount of times as he was in 2015 (151 times) but his yardage and touchdown numbers dropped off: 73 catches for 883 yards and 6 touchdowns. After leading the NFL with 31 catches of 20 or more yards in 2015, Robinson had just 11 in 2016.

His per-catch average also dropped by 5.4 yards from 2015 to 2016. Robinson had a fantastic training camp, however, and appeared poised for a big season in 2017 before his injury.

Information from ESPN's Adam Schefter and Michael DiRocco was used in this report.

Why such a rush for a WR with knee issues?

Injury concerns with Watkins also.

Bears targeted their guy and went out and got him.

I'm happy to get Robinson but I kinda liked Watkins more because of speed. Everything I read last night said the Bears preferred him too. Did they "settle" on Robinson because of contract demands,

watkins is now on his 3rd team, talent is there, but perhaps there are other factors... i mean the RAM gave up a 2nd rounder to obtain watkins last season but didnt attempt to re-sign him? that's odd for having given up that high of draft capital IMO

I think there are concerns about Watkins being a cancer in the locker room.

Really glad to get Robinson.

$42M to rehab on the Bears dime.

What's not to be ecstatic about this signing?!

A clear sign MANY prefer to play with (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky instead of Aaron Frankenstein.

Fake IR moves have consequences.

Last years MRI of Aaron Rodgers knee?

It was a collar bone.

I know, I was thinking about posting something about Robinsons knee to Nas at the same time as this post and 'knee' just got stuck in there lol

And on that note.. I like the Robinson signing but the knee worries me. It's why I wanted Watkins more.

Excellent first move. Now get one more WR and a pass catching TE. Don't stop now, Boys!

They still have the WR from San Diego they traded for last year.

I think Marcus Robinson has better knees than this guy. It's a nice signing but that's a lot of money for a guy who played less snaps than your own failed WR,White in 2017.
